JoSAA Counselling 2020: JEE Aspirants Prefer Mathematics Over Engineering Branches, Check Details Here
Following the release of JoSAA counselling 2020 first-round allotment results, it has been found that the top rankers are preferring Mathematics over the popular engineering branches.
It has been seen that Mathematics has emerged as the most popular stream after Computer Science Engineering (CSE) among JEE Advanced 2020 toppers who desire to study in the IITs.
On the other hand, excluding the CSE stream, other engineering disciplines including Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), Electrical Engineering (EE), Mechanical Engineering (ME), Civil Engineering are not among the top priorities for these students.
Why JEE Toppers are Preferring Mathematics over Other Engineering Branches?
As per the experts, the major reason for the trend observed in the JosAA counselling 2020 is due to the massive demand for Data Analytics professionals in every sector across the world.
As almost every industry is now utilising data for better results, following this, it has been seen that more and more students are now choosing CSE and Mathematics over other engineering disciplines.
Further, two students with 156 rank and 444 rank in JEE Advanced 2020 chose Mathematics in IIT Delhi and IIT Kanpur respectively.
