Ladakh administration has raised its education budget multiple times to INR 871 Cr, an official informed. Read Ful Story

During the integrated multidisciplinary professional advancement for teachers (IMPACT) training programme for Ladakh teachers, presided over by Lieutenant Governor RK Mathur, the aforesaid information was revealed.

Commissioner Secretary Ajeet Kumar Sahu said that a budget of INR 871 Crore has been allocated to Ladakh’s Education Sector which is hiked by multiple times as compared to the previous years.

He added that there will be a rapid progression in the education sector of Ladakh.

The Lt. Governor addressed the gathering by asserting that education, infrastructure, and health are the three fundamentals for any state or union territory for a prosperous economy.

He added that to the extent education is concerned, the future needs and requirements of parents and students of Ladakh and the UT administration is clearly understood and is dedicated to delivering it.

He said that the UT administration has initiated steps in the past year to improve the infrastructure of the school, conducted teachers’ training, launched a career portal ad student helpline, etc.

The teachers can bring fundamental changes in the education sector, he stated.

Mathur highlighted the concerns raised by political leaders and parents on the falling rate of enrolment, standards of education in government schools, and internet connectivity that has majorly affected the rural-urban migration.

The Lt. Governor considering the new education policy, pointed out the necessity to provide education to the children in their family, social, natural, and economic environment to assure innovation aptitude and better learning.

He concluded by saying that the administrative team is dedicated to streamlining the education system in Ladakh.
