Maharashtra Board Exam 2020: HSC, SSC Re-Exams to be held after Assessing COVID Situation

In a recent announcement, Maharashtra School Education Minister has declared that the state will conduct Maharashtra HSC and SSC re-exams after assessment of the prevalent COVID-19 pandemic situation.

As of now, the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Education (MSBSHSE) has postponed the exams which were scheduled to be held in October.

Maharashtra School Education Minister, Varsha Gaikwad, announced that re-examinations for students who were unable to clear Class 10th and 12th boards have been deferred due to Coronavirus pandemic.

She said, "Given the COVID-19 situation, we have decided to postpone the examinations. The re-exam for Class 10 and Class 12 students will be conducted after assessing the coronavirus situation in the state.

As of now, there is no fixed date, but the Board is planning to conduct the exam based on the situation in November or December.”

Earlier, Maharashtra Board had declared the results of HSC on July 16 while the Maharashtra SSC Result 2020 on July 29. Even though the students have been eagerly waiting for the re-exam schedule, teachers believe that such candidates will get sufficient time for preparation.

Hence, students can be expected to fair well in the supplementary or re-exams whenever it is scheduled in the near future. As such, students will not have to miss a year and easily join the next academic class.

Maharashtra SSC and HSC result 2020 were also delayed for declaration due to the pandemic. The considerable delay in declaring results have also stretched the admission phase a little longer than in the past.
