Maharashtra schools and other educational institutions are to remain shut till October 31, 2020, as the nationwide lockdown remains extended

With an alarming rise of COVID-19 positive cases, the government has decided to postpone the reopening of the educational institutions.

The state government has issued a notice which states that digital and distance learning should be a preferred mode of conducting classes. Maharashtra State Government titled the phase-wise reopening as 'Mission Begin Again', in which the lockdown has been extended again till the midnight of October 31, 2020.

The state executive committee has issued a revised set of instructions to be followed to prevent the spread of Covid-19, under the disaster management act. The Government has released a notification, which includes the following instructions:

People should mandatorily wear a mask at any occasion.
Work from home should be preferred.
Social distancing norms and protocols should be followed.

The Government has issued a notice on activities that will remain restricted. They're as follows,

Educational institutions to remain shut till October 31, 2020.
Theatres in Malls, Amusement parks, Swimming pools, Auditoriums and halls, and Market places to remain closed until further notice.
Restaurants, Bars, Hotels, and Food courts to function with only 50% of staff.

A Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs) will be issued by the tourism department, to take precautions during the functioning of these places. Mumbai Metropolitan Region will recommence the operation of local trains in the Pune region by following the protocols.

While the railways will increase the frequency of local trains in MMR. The government has also planned to reopen certain activities in the state considering that ease of operation.
