NEET UG Counselling 2023: MBBS Admission Deadline Extended to November 27 to Fill AIQ and State Quota Seats

New Delhi: The National Medical Commission (NMC) has extended the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test - Undergraduate (NEET UG 2023) stray round counselling dates to November 27, 2023. As per the Supreme Court order, the decision was taken to fill the vacant All India Quota (AIQ) and state quota MBBS seats.

Earlier, the NEET UG Counselling 2023 ended on November 15, 2023. However, the portal will reopen for qualified applicants to fill up the vacant seats. MCC has released the final results for the NEET UG stray vacancy round allotment in which 302 candidates secured MBBS seats across different medical colleges.

Informing about the NEET UG Counselling 2023 process, NMC official notice reads, "In compliance to the directions of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in Diary No. 45004 of 2023 filed by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare for extension of last date for admission of an undergraduate course in W.P. © No. 76 to 2015, all the NEET UG 2023 eligible candidates were informed about the extension of last date of admission of undergraduate courses and to conduct a Special Stray Vacancy Round for the vacant MBBS seats of AIQ and State Quota along with the schedule of Special Stray Vacancy Round of UG Counselling for MBBS Seats – 2023”.

“It is directed to fill up the online details of 1st-year MBBS Course students admitted for the academic year 2023-24 latest by November 27, 2023”, the official notice further added.

 The MCC will soon release the final details for the NEET UG counselling round on mcc.nic.in. Admission into MBBS, BDS, and various undergraduate medical programs is done based on the NEET UG rank and MCC and state counselling procedures.

In addition to this, NEET UG 2024 will be conducted on May 5, with registration opening in January 2024. The National Testing Agency (NTA), responsible for this significant medical entrance exam, has confirmed plans to release the condensed NEET UG syllabus on neet.nta.nic.in.
