Directorate of School Education, WB, Kolkata has officially announced the state-level National Mean-cum-Merit Scholarship Examination (NMMS Exam) 2020 for the students of Class VIII.

NMMS Scholarship is centrally sponsored by the Department of School Education and Literacy and the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), which is offered for the students belonging to the economically weaker sections.

NMMS Examination 2020: Eligibility Criteria 

• Students of class VIII must have obtained 55% marks or equivalent in the class VII final exam will be eligible to take up the NMMS exam 2020
• 5% relaxation to the SC/ST disabled candidates
• These students must have to submit their parental income which should be below INR 1,50,000/- 
• Students must opt for the districts where they belong to under the administrative jurisdiction of the respective district

NMMS Examination 2020: Application Process

The NMMS Scholarship 2020 application form will be available in both offline and online mode. Students who wish to apply for the NMMS exam 2020 can follow the below-mentioned steps to apply for the National Mean-cum-Merit Scholarship Examination (NMMS Exam) 2020 application form. 

Step 1: Visit the official website of the Department of School Education, West Bengal @scholarships.wbsed.gov.in

Step 2: On the homepage, click on the link of “New user register here” to register yourself 

Step 3: Select Scholarship Type as centrally sponsored NMMS Scholarship 2020 and proceed further 

Step 4: You'll be redirected to a new instruction page and read the instructions that are available on the page 

Step 5: On the bottom page, click on the checkbox to accept the instructions 

Step 6: Fill in the relevant details on the application form and hit the submit button to register 

Step 7: Later, the system will provide registration details along with the registration number 

Step 8: Now, login with your registration no/USER ID and password 

Step 9: After successful registration, you'll be redirected to the dashboard of NMMS scholarships 2020

Step 10: Click on the “Application Form” and fill up details in the NMMS Exam 2020 application form 

Step 11: Click on the save button to save your NMMS exam 2020 application form 

Step 12: You will be able to correct the application form until you lock your application form

Step 13: If you don't want to make changes in the application form, then click on the lock button 

Step 14: After this, proceed to the next step to download the “Verification Certificate”

Step 15: Take a hard copy of it and sign it from your school/institution’s HOI and scan the 2nd page of the verification certificate and upload it

Step 16: After uploading all documents click on the link of “Finalize Application” 

Step 17: Your application form has been successfully sent for verification purposes. 

Step 18: You'll be notified once it gets approved or updated

NMMS Examination 2020 Application Form: Documents Required

• The first page of Bank Passbook
• Caste Certificate (if applicable) 
• Disability Certificate (if applicable) 

NMMS Examination 2020: Exam Pattern

NMMS Examination 2020: Exam Syllabus

As there's no prescribed exam syllabus for the NMMS Examination. These Standard of items shall conform to the level of class VII & VIII. The Scholastic Aptitude Test consists of the following subjects, 

• Mathematics 
• History 
• Physical Science
• Geography 
• Life Science

The NMMS exam questions will be asked in an objective type and each question carries one mark and there is no negative marking in the NMMS examination.
