Students and Teachers Involved in e-Classes to Get Diwali Holidays: Maharashtra Education Minister

Varsha Gaikwad, Maharashtra Education Minister stated that Diwali holidays will be granted to all the students and staff members of the schools who are involved in the online education system.

However, the decision is not final. COVID-19 had a major impact on the state of Maharashtra in every respect. Due to the increasing cases, all the educational institutions, colleges, and schools were shut in the month of March itself.

Various decisions are pending regarding the education processing in Maharashtra. There were assumptions that schools might open in November. But earlier, Gaikwad also mentioned that schools will not resume in offline mode till Diwali.

Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray is planning with the state advocate general and various crucial authorities about the resumption of offline classes for class 11. Apart from the whole situation, students have shown a positive attitude towards online classes.

In the words of Varsha, the aim of the state education department is to achieve overall growth of the students and keeping students way ahead of time. With the usage of modern and sophisticated technology, the objective will surely be achieved.

Due to the COVID outbreak, the Education Department has planned to offer free online education to class 11 students. More than 60000 have shown interest in these free e-classes and have registered for the same. It was initiated to avoid a loss to students.

Amidst the Diwali vacations and schools reopening decisions, Maharashtra is witnessing a huge rise in COVID cases daily. The recent record of active cases rises to 16,98,198. However, with the increasing cases, the recovery rate is promising and positive with around 90%.
