Counselling Rounds and Seat Allotment

Tamil Nadu NEET PG counselling is held in four separate rounds. These include Round 1, Round 2, Mop-up Round, and Stray Vacancy Round. Candidates register only once for all four rounds.

Seat allotment follows merit, filled choices, and category reservation rules. Allotted candidates must report to the chosen college before the stated deadline. Failure to report may lead to seat forfeiture.

What Is the Reservation Policy?

Tamil Nadu follows a 69 percent reservation policy for state quota seats. This covers BC, BC Muslim, MBC, SC, SC Arunthathiyar, and ST categories. The remaining seats fall under the Open Competition category.

Why This Matters

Tamil Nadu holds one of the largest shares of postgraduate medical seats in India. Securing a seat here opens access to premier government and private medical colleges. The state quota route is the main gateway for Tamil Nadu nativity candidates.

Action Plan for Candidates

  1. Keep the NEET PG 2026 scorecard and roll number ready.
  2. Arrange nativity, MBBS, internship, and TNMC certificates in advance.
  3. Register online at tnmedicalselection.net well before the deadline.
  4. Research preferred colleges and specialities before choice filling opens.
  5. Track the DMER notification page for schedule updates daily.
Keep an Eye On

The DMER Tamil Nadu is expected to publish the detailed counselling schedule soon. Candidates should watch for the last date to apply and Round 1 seat allotment list.
