Tezpur University BTech and B.Des Admission 2026-27; 2nd Counselling on September 9 at tezu.ernet.in

The Tezpur University (TU) has issued the first notification for the 2nd Counselling and Admission round of the Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) and Bachelor of Design (B.Des) programmes for the 2026-27 academic session on its official admission portal at tezu.ernet.in/adm26. The counselling will be held on September 9, 2026.

The notification confirms four separate merit lists for this round. Candidates shortlisted under the North-East Merit List, TUEE Merit List, CUET-UG Merit List, and UCEED Merit List must report on the scheduled date. Seats remaining after the first round will be filled from these lists.

Merit Lists Applicable for the 2nd Counselling

Candidates must first check their status on the relevant merit list before reporting. Each list corresponds to a separate admission channel used by the university.

Eligibility for B.Tech and B.Des Programmes

For B.Tech programmes in Civil, CSE, Electrical, ECE, and Mechanical Engineering, applicants must have passed 10+2 or an equivalent examination. A minimum aggregate of 60 percent is required with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry, Biology or Biotechnology.

For the B.Des programme, candidates need 10+2 in Science, Arts and Humanities, or Commerce with a minimum of 60 percent marks. A valid UCEED 2026, DAT 2026 Prelims, or TUEE 2026 Design score is mandatory.

Seat Distribution Across Programmes

The B.Tech specialisations offer between 33 and 63 seats each. For the JEE Main channel, 60 percent of seats are reserved for the North-East quota and 40 percent are filled through JoSAA and CSAB. The B.Des programme has a total of 30 seats, with 60 percent for Northeast states and 40 percent open to all-India candidates.

How to Attend the 2nd Counselling at Tezpur University?

Shortlisted candidates must complete the reporting formalities in person on the scheduled date. The process follows the standard document verification and seat allotment flow used in earlier rounds.

2. Carry original certificates, mark sheets, entrance exam scorecard, and identity proof.
3. Report at Tezpur University on September 9, 2026 as per the reporting time in the notice.
