Uttarakhand Becomes First State to Connect Colleges and Universities with Free High-Speed Internet Connectivity; Read Here

Uttarakhand CM Trivendra Singh Rawat launched free high-speed Internet Connectivity in the state for all the colleges and universities of Uttarakhand on November 8, 2020.

Uttarakhand government takes a step forward to provide free Wi-Fi to its college-going students with high-speed internet connectivity. Additionally, Uttarakhand has become the first state in the country to connect colleges and universities with high-speed internet connectivity.

In an official press release, the chief minister said that free Wi-Fi and internet connectivity with high speed will be a boon for the young college students in the state since they aspire to connect with the whole world.

आज डोईवाला स्थित शहीद दुर्गामल्ल राजकीय स्नातकोत्तर महाविद्यालय से राज्य के सभी महाविद्यालयों में फ्री वाई-फाई कनेक्टिविटी का शुभारंभ किया। प्रदेश के महाविद्यालयों को हाई स्पीड इंटरनेट कनेक्टिविटी से जोड़ने वाला देश का प्रथम राज्य बनने पर प्रदेशवासियों को बधाई।

By having this facility of free high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity students can acquire knowledge from great scholars around the world, he said.

He called this innovative move an important step towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of Digital India.

The government, by this step, is making an effort to make its youth self-reliant and further they could build an atmosphere to make jobs for others and the next generation.

The chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat further explained their plan to fight against corruption. He said that the internet and e-office connectivity will have us to fight against corruption effectively.

The Internet could play an important role to defeat corruption by providing transparency between different departments, said Rawat.
