Remarks

Overall it is a good university held in west Bengal, India. it's rank 69 among institute present in India for academic research associated.only negative think autonomous university is less learn and more number score in exam.

Course Curriculum Overview

Semester system exam. It is a number scoring exam system, which is started by UGC(University Grants Commission).This university is follow UGC syllabus and also UGC rules. Semester system is must effortive and hard work for student.

Placement Experience

social work, rural studies and many more department present in pally siksha bhana provide job opportunities and placement to the government and non governmental NGO and also some multinational company.

College Events

Amanda bazar, poush Mela,basanta utshav, holy and many Hindu event.Every Wednesday in morning 7.00 am a pray held in mandir present in university ground.poush Mela held in poush Month in Bengali cal and er.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees is normal but may be expensive for foreigners. For SAARC countries student's have limit fees but Non SAARC Countries student's fees is more expensive.overall fees is not expensive for most of the student

Fees and Financial Aid

Swami Vivekananda merit cum means scholarship, aikashree scholarship, Merit Cum means scholarship for technical course, post matric scholarship and many more scholarship facility available. all of these scholarship is provided by west Bengal government.

Campus Life

lab are well equipped with modern machineries. In zoology lab a microscope is recently buy, cost 1 crore 20 lakhs.it is used mainly for research purpose. interdepartmental football and cricket tournament is occured

Hostel Facilities

Yes I have opted for hostel.Hostel facility for furniture is good but water system is very bad and dining room good but food quality is worst type. Per semester hostel fees for room rent and electricity and maintainence student pay 3000 rupee.

Alumni/Alumna

yes.in every year a festival is held at the end of the season, where senior student, ex student both are present. well communication maintained by university authority and volunteer. During Alumni festival junior have learn form senior culture.

Admission

I first fill the form for M.Sc. Zoology through university website.Then I go to Bolpur for entrance exam.Then publish a merit list.in 1st merit list I am out of the list. In 2nd list university authority message me for admission.Then I go and got admitted.

Faculty

All faculty of my department is highly qualified with PhD. All faculty member do teach for PhD scholars and bsc and msc student. Nice communication. they presented their lecture through projector present in the class room.

Likes

Laboratories facilities are amazing as it is a premium institute. All the labs contains instrument which are available only in institute of national importance o
Faculties are amazingly qualified as well as friendly for solving your doubts
You get multiple opportunities for the industrial experience as internship. This institute provide amazing placement opportunities with high salaries.

Dislikes

The area of the campus is small leads to chaos. Which will be averted after shifting to new campus
Due to the small campus sitting places are very small
Hostel facilities and rooms are very poor.

Placement Experience:

2nd year students are eligible for the campus placement. Sai, Hetero, mendine, dr. Reddys etc companies visities for the campus placement. Offers ranges from 5-12 lpa. 60% students gets placed, 10% goes for higher studies and others get job off campus in my department. Other departments has 100% placement. My plans are pHd from Niper as it provides vast knowledge and instrumental exposure.

The Techno Experience

Likes

Practical Exposure with hands on training is always good for personal growth
The laboratories were well equipped with state of the art instruments
Entrepreneurship was encouraged and it really helped us with designing future start ups.

Dislikes

Lack of scholarships for the needy is one thing that needed to be worked on.
There was a distinct lack of encouragement to pursue extracurricular activity.
Sometimes it felt like it would have helped if we had a mental health counsellor onboard with the department.

Placement Experience:

Techno India University has a strong campus placement. Several students got jobs during the last semester, and I am one of them. Some others choose to wait for better opportunities. Some joined good startups. The package was nominal as we were all freshers. After getting my degree, I planned to pursue corporate experience and then join a lab for my PhD.

Likes

Well equipped laboratories with all necessary instruments and chemicals and whatever that is required. Even Electron microscope are available
Senior and Junior relationship is great, and PhD scholars often guide you in studies and in Life
Canteens, Playground, Books shops are near or inside the Campus with Department and Central Library with access to many books and online resources and WiFi

Dislikes

Politics is on peak since great colleges in india such as JNU are engaged in political activities
Attendance above 75 percent is mandatory to appear for exams
The duration of practical can be of 4-5 hours at a strech sometimes apart from Theory classes

Placement Experience:

Not all courses provides placements. But Placements are often common in departments such as Geology, for other departments, faculties can provide letters of recommendations and absorb as PhD scolars after PG completion and satisfactory performance

My thoughts on our beloved Sidho Kanho Birsha University.

Likes

The most I liked about my university is the infrastructure and availability of facilities for our studies.
Second thing I like are our professors . They help us in every aspect of our educational or personal life .
Third thing I like the most is my batchmates who gives me encouragement for pursuing my studies.

Dislikes

The university is a bit far from the Purulia city . So the connectivity is a problem.
I think if we get some extra hours of the lab facilities, that will be great.
Water purifier are available in some of the floors I think the number should be increased.

Placement Experience:

The campus placement of our university is quite good and it is getting better day by day. Especially our chemistry department is doing great in this field. Last year our dept almost hit 100% placements and the highest package was of 5 lpa. I am planning to peruse my PhD after MSc.
