Remarks

Well, there are many of those. Most of that I've already mentioned in this review. But I would like to mention that this college has a really good ambience to it. You would get to learn many things that you didn't earlier through other students. Be it academics or about life. Most of which you wouldn't in other colleges. And they would be really helpful.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

The syllabus is not as good as I'd like it to be. It is more company orientated than being par with the modern day material. The exama are just of no use. They are more for cramming than understanding.

Placement Experience

3.5

Many companies come for placement round the year. So, the placement opportunities are kinda okay. And about internships, companies do come here. But looking at the number of students and the vacancies in companies, the chances of getting a good company of your choice are pretty slim.

College Events

4

There are many events celebrated round the year. There are many tech fests, hack-a-thons here. The main fest is Saturnalia, which happens every November and is about 3-4 days long. It is a pretty interesting time of the year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is quite expensive. For me, it would be around 20 lacs for my 4 years here (including hostel and mess) which is much more than a government college of most other colleges in the country.

Fees and Financial Aid

A 100 percent scholarship is available for the students with a high board percentage. There is also a scholarship for the students with high marks in college. The institution doesn't offer any loans but they can be availed through banks.

Campus Life

4

There anre many extracurricular activities that one can choose from. It is one of the pros of this college. There anre dedicated fields for each of them and the stuff if provided by the college. Labs are also good. Especially the computer labs.

Hostel Facilities

3

The hostel has a nice infrastructure. There are not many facilities that are provided. But the facilities that are offered are not upto the mark. Laundry is no good. The mess food is sometimes no good.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is pretty much non-existent. There are rarely any connections. It's like once in a while that an alumnus would come and interact with the students. And those interactions are usually very crowdy to be of some good.

Admission

First we have to give JEE Mains. Then fill the admission form of the college. Then there are rounds of admissions. Where we are assigned a branch by our preference list. If our marks are sufficient for the priority branch, we get that. Otherwise, the next preference is considered.

Faculty

3

Some teachers are really good at their jobs and have an in-depth knowledge of their subjects. But just a few of the teachers are actually good at what they teach. Some don't even have the knowledge of the subjects they are teaching.

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
