Entrance Preview

I took AIEEE, I scored 121 in AIEEE 2011. From the counseling, I didnt get any good nits. So I waited for board exam TNEA. I chose this college for the only purpose that they dont ask for extra fees other than government specified.

Course Curriculum Overview

2

I basically liked electronics and opted for this course. Some subjects differed from what electronic courses from other colleges would have, as this college is affiliated to Anna University.

Internships Opportunities

They dont allow to go for companies for internships to do during the course. I was fined a lot for doing intern in a power plant. The duration of the internship required me to take around 10 days leave for colg in addition to the semester holidays. Even after showing the intern certificate, they fined me around ?1500 and barred me from going class until I paid the fine.

Placement Experience

2.5

Only IT companies come for placement. In my year the following companies came, with the number of students selected in brackets - CTS(183), Infosys(82), Accenture(233), Tech Mahindra (9), Zoho(2), Verizon( around 7 i think). Infosys - 3.25 lakh per annum, CTS- 3.5 lac, Accenture - 2.75 lac ,Verizon and zoho - 4.5 lac.

Fees and Financial Aid

Our college do not offer by themselves but they help in getting third party scholarships (mainly first graduate and SC scholarship). I have not tried any of those.

Campus Life

1.5

Gender ratios are department specific, in my dept there were 35 boys 30 girls. In CSE or IT the number of girls is more. They dont allow for any other sports competition other than cricket ( and that too for JETS and Zonals only). They dont allow for competitions outside the college in working days. Most of the competitions occur only in working days and we don't have the opportunity to participate in any of them.

Exam Structure

Labs occur for continuous 3 hours per day. Normally we have 2 or 3 lab papers per semester. So for a week, we would have 2 or 3 lab sessions( each sessions lasting for 3 hours). Exams occur as per Anna University schedule.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is relevant and provides a good balance of theoretical knowledge and practical learning. It prepares students for real-world applications, but more industry projects, practical sessions, and updated teaching methods would help. Exams are generally well-spaced and moderately difficult.

Placement Experience:

Placements are generally decent, with students becoming eligible from the final year. Several companies visit for recruitment, offering roles in technical and non-technical fields. Packages vary by company, and placement opportunities depend on skills and performance. Many students secure jobs, while others pursue higher studies or competitive exams.
