Remarks

College campus infrastructure are positive things about my college.Negative things about my college are poor placement of core branches and poor management of various activities like college cleanliness.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Course curriculum is good but it is outdated but now slowly course curriculum is improving and there are continuous assessment every month and a semester exam at the end.w e also have to submit mandatory assessment point every to get through

Placement Experience

3.5

Placement opportunity for CSE,IT,ECE branches are very good almost 70 percent of students are placed.Core branches placement is not so much good but if you are talented then you will get the opportunity

College Events

There are many events in our college. Some of most important events are college fests prayukti the technical fest and rivera the culture fest these two happens every year. There is also culture meet.Rangmilanti and mang more

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee semester for per semester is approximately 38000.But this varies for every semester by 1000 or 2000.The variance is due to addition of sports fee and others. You have to pay 1200 each semester for exam fees.

Fees and Financial Aid

Loan facility provided by college is very good. You can get clarification for loans very easily.Scholarship opportunity are very rare.Either you have to departmental topper or you have to be tfw that is residential of west bengal

Campus Life

Sports are very good in college.College encourages to do many sports activities many tournaments are held every year for diffrent sports. Labs are good. Some systems are not up to mark and they lack maintenance

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Yes I opted for hostels.Hostels infrastructure are very good.Rooms are spacier. But sanitation maintaination is not good.Hostel 's mess is very poor but they make good fish.Electricity is available all the time and other facility are also good

External Expense: Rs.4000 - Rs.7000

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni I did not hear about them anywhere but seniors are seniors just like other college. Some of them are very good and some are very bad influence.Good seniors always help their junior in their study and as well as guidance

Admission

I got admission in college through wbjee entrance exam scoring rank of 14923 then going through the counselling process. We can also get admission through jee exam and also there is 10% seats available as merit list

Faculty

The college faculty is normal like other colleges but some teachers are very good in their respective area.We have some good teachers in Java and Data structure and algorithms. Our Hod is quite good and teachers are very helpful

Likes

Supportive Faculty - The professors are highly qualified, approachable and always willing to help students
Free wifi support - There are free wifi support for both student and faculty
Fee Structure - It is very affordable and low compared to other colleges in the region

Dislikes

Placement support is below average, and most studnets have to apply for off campus jobs independently, which is really pathetic in the era of ai where getting a job as a fresher is so difficult
There is no dedicated support or placment cell initiative to help studnets land meaningful summer internships or any kind of internships

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements starting from the 7th semester. For placement drives, we have to visit the main campus, Techno Main Salt Lake (TMSL). Since students from other Techno India campuses and branches also participate, the competition is extremely high. In the 2025–2026 academic year, fewer companies visited. Only two companies, Dronahost and WishCare, visited our specific campus directly. The remaining drives—mostly service-based companies like TCS and EY, along with a few startups—were conducted at the main campus. The remaining drives mostly service based companies like TCS, EY etc and quite a few startups has visited to main campus. The package they offered mostly in between 3.5lpa - 6 lpa. Furthermore the selection process of those startups is quite rigorous often consisting of upto 5 rounds of interview, two technical rounds with two technical interviews, and HR round My plans after getting the degree is either pursue an MBA or preparing for govt jobs

Campus life: Hype vs Truth

Likes

The discipline is followed very strictly. Also you have access to library which is good, teachers are helpful and no ragging policy which is strictly followed and has a decent environment.
Thery conduct seminars which encourages students. Many faculty members are knowledgeable experienced in their respective subjects and helpful willing to solve doubts beyond the classroom also.
The college has decent infrastucture including classrooms, labs and library .

Dislikes

While the curriculum is decent ,it lacks sufficeint practical implementation.More hands on projects, real world application and industry exposure would improve learning significantly.
Campus life can sometimes fell limited in terms of active student interaction.Opportunites for clubs, networking and collaborative activities could be improved.
The college comes under St tHomas School so the campus is not great it is compact and has a canteen.

Placement Experience:

I heard it from seniors that before lockdown it was pretty decent but after lockdown the company visits are not that much comapred to before lockdown.Cognizent, Accenture, Mindtree, PQ360 which is a startup company of our senior alumni etc. visits.

Dislikes

Labs are not well maintained the machines are very slow

In case of my couse everything is coverd but it would have been much better of they focus on practicals more rather than theory. If they make us aware of all the new technologies that are used in the industry.

HIT HALDIA - AT A GLANCE

Okay, I've applied for 2-3 colleges(IEM Kolkata, Heritage Institute of Technology kolkata, Techno India Main Saltlake) alongwith HIT Haldia. But I choose this college because of mainly two reasons- 1)This is near my hometown. 6-7 km away from my house 2)My some school seniors are also studied here so they said me to take admission here Yes I've got rejection from many colleges also because my WBJEE and JEE main ranks are not so good. But I was selected to take admission i some colleges also but I didn't make that because of expensive fee structure and poor placements. Admission process of my college is not that much complicated for Regular admission like through WBJEE and JEE Mains. But for Direct admission(management quota) you may encounter some difficulties....Read More
