College with good values

I would recommend the readers to go for the University only if they can work hard by themselves. But if they want to rely on the teachers then please go for colleges as what I've found if those colleges are much better than University as in the university you're on your own.

If you take admission in this course then you will be taught a history of literature, cultural studies, literary genres, academic writing, literary movements, literary criticism, linguistics, American literature etc. The curriculum helps you to crack UGC NET exam which is required for PhD.

The placements aren't that good. One has to work himself or herself to find a job even when a few placements take place from the campus but the students who are high scorers or have extraordinary talents get placed. There is a placement cell which I don't feel so really places a huge number of students as only 5-10% get placed after M.A, the others have to go for higher education.

The events celebrated in the campus are another reason to take admission in this university other than the intellectual faculty. Almost every festival is celebrated by the university. Even the department of English and cultural studies collects a small amount of money from the students and celebrates all the festivals.

The fee for the year is collected one which is 10k. It is quite economical as compared to colleges which are another plus point for taking admission in this university rather than a college affiliated to the university. The examination charges which are 2575 are collected every semester. If you want to re-evaluate any answers sheet then the cost is 600 per subject.

The scholarships are provided on the basis of need as well as merit. The maximum amount of scholarship provided is 5-6k and to 10-15. Also, there are state scholarships as well which are provided by the state from which the students belong. For example, there were scholarships provided by the Haryana state.

The campus life is amazing if you live in the hostel. There are protests without any violence. Every day one or the other department conducts seminars or sessions or events and anyone which is a part of the University can attend those. Students from nearly every state are studying on the campus.

The alumni association is PU Amda which is great. There are reunions also. The seniors are quite approachable and helpful and one can easily go to them for any kind of help. Even the chairperson is very amiable and generous.

M.A English is a pretty good course for students who aspire to pursue a career as a teacher, content writer, professor, personality developer etc. Panjab University conducts an entrance exam to get an entry in this course. The forms for the same can be filled on the website and are open from April to May. The exam takes place in June every year.

The faculty of the University is very friendly as well as experienced. They are PhDs from outside the country. But the staff is short due to which we are not offered with the choice of the subjects which is there in the syllabus. Also, this shortage resulted in our classes which are taken by the research scholars.
