Standing across the ages

This college has his legacy from 1884 and is still standing strong across the ages. The experienced management of the institution and facilities make the college experience worth enough to be remembered till the death.

It is a complete package which helps the students to get introduced to all aspects of the field. Later it goes in detail. English language, linguistics, elt and literature are all exposed to the learners. The exam structure is the cumulative of internal and external examinations. Two internal examination along with assignments and quizes eill be conducted throughout rhe course period of a semester. The external will be the end of the semester.

There is a placement cell which allows the present and alumni to get placed in a job which fit theor criteria. The management also encourages student scholarships. I helped the undergraduate students of Tamil department with spoken English and I got fairly paid by management.

Collwge entertains and educates the students by letting them get involved in both indoor ad outdoor activities. Inter and intra college competions are celeberated per deparment every year. Common days and every religious and general celebrations are observed.

Affordable. It is not so expensive. The fee structure fall perfectly into the struxture alloted by the government to the affiliated colleges of the university. The fees are paid at the beginning of the semster and a separate exam fee will be collected later before semester end examinations.

Scholarships are provided for minorities and BPL students. A fair amount is paid by the management to encourage their studies. I havee not personally availed for scholarships so i dont have any more details regarding them.

The college has a physical education department which encourages students participate in common sports meet. The sports students have bagged national and state prices. Apart from them NCC and NSS clubs are practiced. Labs are available for every department. Our college is known for its mighty chemistry lab which is one of the greatest lans in indian colleges.

Yes I am a resident and the hostel rate is kinda expensive compared to the normal rooms. For girls we have to two hostels. Noyes Garden which has space to accommodate 6 per room and common toilets and bathrooms. International hostel has the space to accommodate 4 students per rooom along with attached toilet, bathroom and locker facilities. These rooms are expensive compared to the other hostel. Initial settlement is paid at the beginning and the management will.collect the electric and mess fees every year.

Alumni network is strongly maintained. Every year alumni meet is conducted in order to let them be in touch with their colleaguesz friends, facilities and institution. The bond between seniors and juniors is boundless.

After registering through applications, you'll be selected based on entrance exam for under grad and for post grad there will be entrance examination. For M.phil, the students have to pass both the entrance exam and interview conducted by university. That's the criteria. Since I did my post grad and M.Phil, I took entrance exams for both degrees.

Experienced and student friendly professors made the course period lively. Such atmosphere created by them made the students to get equiped in a more ease way! Apart from.classroom experience, they also encourage students to attned conference, paper presentation and lectures to get knowledge from every perspective.
