Remarks

College has a very good canteen, environment inside College is very good, elevators should be more, only two in each building is not enough,College is always clean, bathrooms are also clean. Playgrounds are also available.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course is same as in every other engineering College, exam patterns-2 semester exams every year. Two internals are taken in 1 semester along with practical examinations,my College is autonomous,so questions are set by teachers.

Placement Experience

Placement and job opportunities are really impressive for computer science, mechanical, information technology students,we get enough campus placements every year, can say anything about stipend though.you can expect high grade companies to come in College too

College Events

Freshers happen ever year to give welcome party to students who came new to College, fests take place,dj nights are best of them all, nascent programs are there, fashion club is also there, you can expect to have much awaited fun in College fest when celebrities come and entertain us.

Fee Structure And Facilities

fee structure is Feasible, not expensive though, but expensive than most of College in kolkata,it is around 45100 per semester, and 70000 during the time of admission,it charges 1200 every semester for examination fee.

Fees and Financial Aid

You should apply an application for late fee and get your late fee forgiven,if you cannot afford to submit your College fee in right time, you have to write an application to principal and get it signet by joint registrar as well as principal of College

Campus Life

4.5

Sports events happen twice every year, labs are really good,we have availability of every instrument for lab purpose, enough computers are there.some clubs are there where you can join and do extracurricular activities.

Alumni/Alumna

Some senior students are helpful while some just spam around, dressing code of students, teacher, alumni are really impressive.alumni network is insane,I can say,you can expect some senior students to help you, they are helpful

Admission

I appeared in entrance exam, then I registered for counselling and got this College,I secured a rank, and with thd help of rank I secured mechanical engineering in Heritage institute of technology. The counselling was done in 4 steps.

Faculty

3.5

Some faculties semms to have better knowledge and can teach really well, while some appear yo have lack of experience or teaching skills, overall we are experiencing good teaching guidance under these teachers.

Likes

Supportive Faculty - The professors are highly qualified, approachable and always willing to help students
Free wifi support - There are free wifi support for both student and faculty
Fee Structure - It is very affordable and low compared to other colleges in the region

Dislikes

Placement support is below average, and most studnets have to apply for off campus jobs independently, which is really pathetic in the era of ai where getting a job as a fresher is so difficult
There is no dedicated support or placment cell initiative to help studnets land meaningful summer internships or any kind of internships

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements starting from the 7th semester. For placement drives, we have to visit the main campus, Techno Main Salt Lake (TMSL). Since students from other Techno India campuses and branches also participate, the competition is extremely high. In the 2025–2026 academic year, fewer companies visited. Only two companies, Dronahost and WishCare, visited our specific campus directly. The remaining drives—mostly service-based companies like TCS and EY, along with a few startups—were conducted at the main campus. The remaining drives mostly service based companies like TCS, EY etc and quite a few startups has visited to main campus. The package they offered mostly in between 3.5lpa - 6 lpa. Furthermore the selection process of those startups is quite rigorous often consisting of upto 5 rounds of interview, two technical rounds with two technical interviews, and HR round My plans after getting the degree is either pursue an MBA or preparing for govt jobs

Campus life: Hype vs Truth

Likes

The discipline is followed very strictly. Also you have access to library which is good, teachers are helpful and no ragging policy which is strictly followed and has a decent environment.
Thery conduct seminars which encourages students. Many faculty members are knowledgeable experienced in their respective subjects and helpful willing to solve doubts beyond the classroom also.
The college has decent infrastucture including classrooms, labs and library .

Dislikes

While the curriculum is decent ,it lacks sufficeint practical implementation.More hands on projects, real world application and industry exposure would improve learning significantly.
Campus life can sometimes fell limited in terms of active student interaction.Opportunites for clubs, networking and collaborative activities could be improved.
The college comes under St tHomas School so the campus is not great it is compact and has a canteen.

Placement Experience:

I heard it from seniors that before lockdown it was pretty decent but after lockdown the company visits are not that much comapred to before lockdown.Cognizent, Accenture, Mindtree, PQ360 which is a startup company of our senior alumni etc. visits.

Dislikes

Labs are not well maintained the machines are very slow

In case of my couse everything is coverd but it would have been much better of they focus on practicals more rather than theory. If they make us aware of all the new technologies that are used in the industry.

Ragging free campus. Strict action are taken against those who found guilty.
Classrooms are well equipped and are spacious.
There are many fun events that happen in the college

Dislikes

The campus area is too small. The library is not good
The societies are fully controlled by students so huge partiality goes on.
Some of the teachers are mean and are not good.

Placement Experience:

From the 3rd year onwards , students become eligible for internships and stepping in 4th yr , students get eligible for campus placement. Techno provides decent campus placements according to your marks. Good marks also with skills get you better salary. Minimum 7.5 cgpa is mandatory to have you sit for campus placements. The lowest package is 3.4 LPA and highest vary but students also get 14LPA easily. Wipro, tcs ,cap ,gemini, amazon , ibm etc.

Heritage Institute Of Technology, Kolkata

I applied to plenty of state engineering colleges and only made it to UIT, BU which has awful facilities and a good ragging culture. So I opted out and went to a private college. Among private colleges, as far as I know, WB, IEM and Heritage are considered to be better. IEM's strict uniform code, zero campuses made me choose Heritage over IEM. The admission process is 1) Through West Bengal Joint counselling, which I went through, 2) Management Quota. Also, another reason why I picked Heritage over other private colleges is that it's fees is lower compared to other private colleges in west Bengal....Read More
