Remarks
The college is very decent. The faculty is nice. Enough opportunity is there for placements. The location of this college is a bit problem. Also, infrastructure for sports is very less. The canteen is poor.
Course Curriculum Overview
The syllabus is a bit old.The syllabus is as decided by the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal.The syllabus should be revised as per the new technologies of the IT Market. There are two semester exams in one year.It takes 4 years to complete graduation.So, the total number of semester exams is 8.Also, 2 Unit Tests have to be given in one semester.So, the total number of such tests is 16. I usually had Labs on 4 out of the 5 days.The days are usually hectic.
Placement Experience
The placements are decent.There are enough job opportunities.If one is decent enough, one will surely get a placement.The package is usually between 3-6 LPA.The college is under Techno India Group of colleges.So, there are even more opportunities. Companies like ThoughtWorks, Sopra Steria, MAQ Software, Byju's came in 2019. Opputunities for Internships are also plenty.
College Events
Paridhi is the Annual Tech-Fest of this college.It is one of the largest Tech-Fests of Kolkata, India.Huge participation from entire Kolkata is seen.Also, an annual cultural fest is also organised.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Semester fees is between ? 40,000-45,000.So the entire fees is between ? 320,000-360,000. Also, semester examination fees of ? 1200 per semester has to be given.The fees is very affordable. Also, there are various schemes of the State and the Central Governments, from which one can take benifits.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college does not offer any loan/scholarship. There are many schemes of the Central and the State Governments, from which one can take benefits.Also, loans from banks can easily be taken.I know many friends who have taken loans from banks and who has benifitted from those schemes.
Campus Life
There is no infrastructure for sports, in this college.The Labs are decent and satisfactory. A lot of extracurricular activities keep on happening.Those activities are usually associated with some clubs of the college. Gender ratio is decent.The students are very tolerant with regards to Gender, Ethnicity, Race, Riligion, Sexual Orientation, Politics and Economic Status.A lot of students from other states take admission into this college.
Hostel Facilities
The college does not have its own hostel.However, there are a lot of options of private hostels. I stay in Sahara Hostel.It is the nearest hostel to the college.The rent is approximately ? 6000 per month.So, the total is ? 288,000.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni network is decent.Recently, there has been a lot of efforts in strengthening the alumni network.The seniors are very helpful.One can gain a lot from them.They are very friendly.We do have seminars being conducted by the alumni network and the seniors.
Admission
I gave West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam(WBJEE).I secured a rank of 13185 in the exam and as per my rank and my choice of colleges, I got admission into Meghnad Saha Institue of Technology, Kolkata.The order of the colleges of one's choice is very crucial in the admission process.The most desired colleges should be at the top of the list.The least desired colleges should be at the bottom of the list. I always wanted to take this course.I had a deep interest in Programming and Coding.
Faculty
The college faculty is highly qualified.Their interest to teach and to put in efforts is a bit less.Also, they usually teach in Bengali.So, students who do not understand Bengali, find it a little difficult to understand.
