Remarks

The fact that this institution was founded and built by a group of professors with a purely academic mindset and not a business mindset is an absolute pro to this college. In the four years, it has become evident that choosing this institution was completely worthy.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

This institution is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai and hence the curriculum here is the one that's provided by the University and it is not unique for this institution. The curriculum here, despite being outdated, is still somewhat relevant to the current industry requirement. But most of the topics in the curriculum are actually very important in terms of industry/technical knowledge requirement.

Placement Experience

4

Companies started appearing when we were in the pre-final year. Some were on-campus drives and some were pooled off-campus drives. Of all the companies that appeared, some were startups, some were well-known companies. Our batch was especially lucky because there were a lot of core companies that appeared.

College Events

3.5

A symposium is helped every year individually for every department. Events like paper presentation, project and poster presentation, RC racing, drone racing, dirt bike racing are held. Other entertaining events like contraption, ad-zap are also held. Students from the surrounding cities come to participate in the events and are also provided with certificates for participation and achievement.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure, despite depending upon the cut-off scored in higher secondary, is still feasible. Notebooks, books, stationeries, paper bundles, drafters are provided annually by the college. Books are provided for every semester. In case of admission through government quota, i.e., through Anna University counselling, no additional fee is required. In case of a management quota seat, it requires an additional amount as a donation, which, in my knowledge, is still feasible and reasonable.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, the college offers scholarships. The eligibility criteria for availing the scholarship is based on the cut-off scored in higher secondary. The scholarship was provided for an amount, which was 10% of the course fee.

Campus Life

3

Gender ratios in other departments are good but in mechanical engineering, obviously, there are more boys than girls. Hostels are separate, well maintained and spacious. The institution encourages students to attend and organize workshops. The student diversity here isn't vast, with the majority of the students belonging to nearby places and some students coming from far away cities.

Alumni/Alumna

College seniors were really helpful, in terms of academics and in terms of guidance on how to progress with the course. The institution brings alumnus who is currently working, to interact with the students and to share their work experience, to share how their interview experience and to provide some guidance to the students who are about to attend interviews.

Admission

Opted for mechanical engineering as I was interested in it and this college was especially well-known for good placement in mechanical engineering. The factors that made me choose this institution are the guarantee of on-campus placement, reputation of the institution and the fact that one of my family members studied here and got placed in a reputed organization.

Faculty

3.5

All the faculties are postgraduates and a few are doctorates. Faculties with doctorates are mostly designated as associate professors and the faculties with postgraduates are designated as assistant professors. Most of the faculties here are well-versed in their field of expertise and are friendly enough, kind enough and patient enough to clarify any of our queries and are ready to support anyone looking for motivation.

The curriculum is relevant and provides a good balance of theoretical knowledge and practical learning. It prepares students for real-world applications, but more industry projects, practical sessions, and updated teaching methods would help. Exams are generally well-spaced and moderately difficult.

Placements are generally decent, with students becoming eligible from the final year. Several companies visit for recruitment, offering roles in technical and non-technical fields. Packages vary by company, and placement opportunities depend on skills and performance. Many students secure jobs, while others pursue higher studies or competitive exams.
