Remarks

Positive Best in class infrastructure, location of College is really good. Peaceful environment and good work culture. Beautiful campus. Negative Located in remote area so placement is not that great.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum is decent which appropriate subjects but outdated syllabus. Syllabus hasn't bsen updated from a long time so that's a setback. Rest the subjects related to course are good. Exam schedule is hectic as it continuous during mid semester exams and alternate during end semester exams but also fine because it gives students enough time to explore different interests.

Placement Experience

3.5

As College is located in a relatively remote area lesser companies comes for placement so only few companies offers high packages but the placement percentage is good especially for cse and ece branches(around 90%+). But students here are determined and thus many of them gets placed off campus and get high payed packages.

College Events

4.5

College has it's annual technical fest 'Nimbus' and cultural fest 'Hillffair'. Hillffair is organized annually in the month of October which sees the presence of various singer, musical bands, comedians, EDM night and other famous personalities. It is a 3 night and 2 day event. 'Nimbus' is organized annually in the month of March which sees College various technical clubs making various projects to win the best club award and 'Nimbus' also sees a large participation of students from all around Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and other Colleges who participate in Nimbus to show their projects.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee Structure depends on family income of the students. If the family income is less than Rs 1,00,000 per annum then tuition fees is around Rs 9,000 per semester. If the family income is in between than Rs 1,00,000 and Rs 5,00,000 per annum then tuition fees is around Rs 30,000 per semester. For rest of the students fees is around Rs 73,000 per semester. The hostel and mess fees is same for all students that is around Rs 20,000 per semester.

Fees and Financial Aid

College offers student loans to students who can't afford their annual fees. College has tied up with SBI and thus interested students can apply for student loan in the SBI office in the College. Students have to provide some documents like parents income information, PAN card info, etc to avail this facility.

Campus Life

4.5

College has different clubs and societies where students give interviews to get selected. College has it's own cultural and technical fest that are held annually that draws a lot attention. College also has it's annual sports fest 'Lalkaar' so overall all type of extracurricular activities happens in the College. Sex ratio is about 4:1 Male to Female ratio.

Hostel Facilities

4

College has total 13 hostels for students of different years. The hostels have very good infrastructures especially the one's that are recently built. Hostels are clean and bathroom have good sanitation. Sometimes there is water issue in the hostel but rest of the times everything is fine. The rooms for 1st, 2nd and 3rd year students are in sharing of 3 whereas for final year and PG students they have single room. Hostel fees is same for all the students that is Rs 20000 per semester.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni and seniors are really friendly and helpful. Most of them are ever ready to help out juniors and guide them properly. Alumni even help out College in conducting various events and bringing different sponsors to the College.

Admission

I got admission in NIT Hamirpur via an entrance exam that is conducted all over India every year call JEE Mains. I got 25073 rank all over India and got a seat in CSE Dual Degree course in NIT Hamirpur in the 7th round of seat allocation. I chose CSE over other branches because it is the best stream one can opt in today's date because of better career and better placement.

Faculty

3.5

Faculties are well qualified. All of them are Phd, all of them have knowledge about their particular subjects but some faculties don't have the right teaching style so it's a mix. Some facilities have in depth knowledge about their subject and also excels in their teaching style.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities at my college are average. A few reputed companies visit the campus each year, but the number of offers and salary packages varies depending on the branch and market conditions. Students who have strong academic performance, technical skills, internships, and good communication skills generally have better chances of getting placed.
