Remarks

Thanks to the many workshops conducted and fests, they give as a border spectrum and also opportunity to interact with the other college students.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

As architecture is different from other courses, we do not have industrial visits or campus placements. Instead number of site visits and internal vivas were conducted for the deeper understanding of the each and every course. Multiple workshop and assignments will also be conducted along with regular sem internals and exams.

Placement Experience

4.5

BMS has one of the best campus interviews and placements where more than 50 companies are approved irrespective of the department. In architecture, they encourage students to participate in internship during vaccinations and also provide necessary details regarding the same along with the documentation required. Yes, at the end of 3rd year, a special placement program is conducted for about 1.5/2 months, which gives a deeper insight of how the placement works and nessasary details.

College Events

3.5

There are multiple events conducted throughout the year in all categories. Each department has separate technical fest too. And some times, 2/3 departments conduct technical fest together. As a college, sports day- kredostav, cultural day- utsav are also managed. About more than 1000 students will participate and other colleges also can be a part of such fest.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee is charged according to the government rules. Mine is 45k per year. And mode of payment accepted are DD or CASH. Yes, additional fees has to be paid every year apart from regular sem fee as miscellaneous fee. And also fee structure for management quota and additional charges are quite high and unaffordable to common middle class person. Yes, they do provide transparency in fee structure.

Fees and Financial Aid

No. I have never opted for any scholarships or education loans. But I do know that college provides scholarship for rank students from the trust and also from other organisations. There is a separate committee which helps students for such activities and also gives information required for all the procedures for loans too.

Campus Life

4

There is no gender discrimination in college with respect to students or teachers. Any kind of unethical practices of above mentioned are strictly prohibited and actions are taken against them. Students are from different parts of the country and also NRI students are also there where separate hostel and food facilities are provided according to their preferences. Many extras curriculum activities, sports and other facilities are open to students everyday.

Alumni/Alumna

There is a student reunion committee which coordinates between present students and alumni. They are interactive sessions which helps us to give a broader network regarding the outside world. My experience was excellent as this sessions helps me to know more about firms and their functionality. They give us brief idea about qualifications required for us to succeed in the representative department. And also about the future unpredicted plan and higher education details.

Admission

I was selected through merit list. It was one of the best colleges in Bangalore and ranks 1st in architecture department. After the results were announced and college selection, through acknowledgement letter we approached the college and certain formalities were conducted like marks card verification and submission, Confirmation of seat, insite about fees structure etc. 3day conduction program was conducted to brief about the course, college functionality and others.

Faculty

4

BMS has one of best faculty. Teachers have experience from 30ys to someone who has graduated recently. This helps students not only learn from the experienced teachers but also understand the present design trends. For an average of 45 students, 2-4 teachers are allocated for represented subjects. And also yes, they do have industry experience as some are still working on field. And some of our experienced lectures, have published papers and award winners while some are pursue higher education. A faculty should have a minimum qualification of masters from a well known University.

Admission:

The admission procedure is not tedious. After plus 2 and appearing for JEE 2 or NATA exams, candidates have to apply with that scores. After screening they will be called for interview. For validation purposes, all the original certificates will be scrutinized.

This is a very good College in terms of education and co-curricular activities. The events hosted in the College and the workshops are almost always paid for so it is hard if you don't have pocket money with you always.

Admission:

I applied to the college based on my score in the National Aptitude Test for Architecture (NATA). I also appeared in the JEE Main paper 2. However, the NATA score been good then JEE Main paper 2 so I said for the NATA counselling. I was allotted a seat in the institute in spot counselling. After the grant of the admission I was called to the campus to complete the procedural formalities for admission. I opted for the institute because it is one of the top institute for architecture studies in Mysore.

Remarks:

The Architectural education scene is still a work in progress, and the quality changes dramatically in a short period of time and hence the relevancy of my remarks here are questionable., Management has changed recently, the University of Mysore has taken over, and it brings bigger resources, better integration with other university facilities and it's government-like administration with it's pros and cons. It would be wise to personally visit the facilty.
