Atharva College of Engineering Mumbai, B.E. (computer engineering)

Remarks

We have an amazing infrastructure there is a swimming pool, iMac lab (has over 50 apple iMac computers), Robotics center, ieee cell etc which no other college has in Mumbai.

Entrance Preview

I had given MHT-CET exam in 2013 and IIT-JEE. I scored 115/200 in MHT-CET and 60/360 in IIT-JEE. I got admission here with my CET marks. I took admission here as many of my elder friends who passed out of ACE said its a good college. The cutoff marks were also high that time, compared to other colleges and i myself got admission in the 2nd list. The other reason i chose Atharva is that it is also near to my residence.Admission process was easy and taechers helped during admission.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course curriculum is exactly as specified by the Mumbai University. There are no elective subjects till the 3rd year. All branches have 6 subjects each semester in the F.E. All subjects are according to what Mumbai university specifies. In the 6th sem we have a choice out of four subjects as elective course.

Internships Opportunities

Atharva college has an internship program of its own. I am right now going though the process of getting an internship. The internship committee emails us regularly about various internships for web development, sales and marketing, SEO etc. companies like Stylonic, Envisia techsoft, Getdeals ,iksula etc however mostly all were startups. Training will start in some time and Stipend has not been specified yet. However majorly all are paid internships.

Placement Experience

4

The placement and training section is good. We get training for aptitude ,technichal tests etc . Most major companies like Infosys ,Techmahindra, TCS, i-gate patni, L & T Infotech often recruit large number of students. These companies offer a package of 2.5-4 lacs p.a. Mostly students get an average of 3 lacs p.a.

College Events

4.5

Festivals, Techfests, Events are the major things which happen all around the year. All colleges come to participate. We have Techithon, techfest with workshops, seminars etc. Rythm, annual cultural event with djnite drama music, fashion show, prom night etc. IEEE, Techfest with certificates from ieeeE-week -entrepreneurship events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

We have to pay fees annually the fees is affordable compared to other colleges which have 1 lac p.a. We have an approx 3-5k hike in fees this year fees was Rs68,000.

Fees and Financial Aid

All government scholarships are available recently a scholarship for students scoring above 8.5 cgp i was granted by Tata. College does not offer any loans. However college provides funding if a student has an innovative idea in the field of engineering.

Campus Life

4.5

Its an engg college so gender ratio is uneven as boys are more than girls. Its a mixed cultural crowd. Marathi and gujurati are majority. There is tolerance and no discrimination regarding race religion etc. We have many extra co, workshops and cultural committees every year sports week is organised.

Hostel Facilities

4

The college does not provide any hostel facilities however there are many facilities around the college which are affordable. Canteen food is above average and affordable. Chinese is a must try. We have a mini cafeteria having pastries and coffee.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are very helpful and guide us there are part of many committees and explain about what to opt for future studies, extra courses we should do etc.

Exam Structure

Each semester we have 1 major semester exam conducted by mumbai university there are 2 mid term exams of 20 marks per subject. They are non-hectic as question bank is provided before hand which is not given in many colleges.

Faculty

3

The faculty is average here this is a kind of negative point to be considered while taking admission here some part of faculty dont seem to be that much qualified. While some of teachers teach more than 2-3 and that too from other branch of engineering. However you might get 1-2 teachers who teach nicely.

Placement Experience:

Placements at ADYPU are moderate and structred . Students usually become eligilble from the final year for campus drives. Various startups and mid level comapnies visit for roles in sales, marketing, operatioons and tech support . The highest pacakage generally ranges arounf 45-50LPA , while the average package is around 4.5-6 LPA , depending on the profile . A fair percentage of active students secure placements. After completing my degree, i plan to focus on skill development and pursue better career op;portunities.

Placement Experience:

placements in GHRCE are pretty good for CS/IT branches. Students become eligible from 7th semester, but companies starts giving training sessions from 6th sem itself. Many known companies visits like Tcs, Wipro, Capgemini, cognizant, Infosis etc The highest package goes around 20-22 LPA while the average package is around 5-6 LPA. Almost 70-80% students from CS/IT get placed. My plans after getting the degree is to get a stable job and then do masters.

Reviewed on Mar 2, 2025(Enrolled 2022)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course out of sheer curiosity and intrest in the field of Artificial Intelligence . The course offered by the college encapsulates all the major subtopics included in the field. Theoretically the curriculum offers great knowledge about various topics from your course however you yourself have to figure out how do you build your practical skills which you can use in the real world. teaching methods can be improvised by implementing a more practical learning based approach rather than relying on the theoretical part of the subject. there are 2exams per semester, one small exam called as mid semester exams and the other one is the major exam called as final semester exam. difficulty of exam is usually easy to moderate and one can easily pass the exam even if he/she does not study regularly.
