Remarks
the college is good for most things. if you have no other NIT IIT option, it is not at all a bad option if you want to keep your expenses low. good food is available.
Course Curriculum Overview
good course curriculum. comes under makaut. mooc courses allowed now for the purpose of syllabus mentioned credit gathering. additional courses from iit bombay and edx and coursera also being prescribed.
Placement Experience
placements are good. lot of companies like TCS, THOUGHTWORKS, CTS, WIPRO, JCI Johnson Controls etc are coming. Since it is in siliguri, gateway to north east. Placements of many north east NITs also are conducted here in collaboration with TIG group. SIT also comes under TIG and NSEC too. So NSEC students can go to SILIGURI and sit for placements there too.
Fee Structure And Facilities
feasible. about 5 lakh rupee is the fee. Hostels are separate. same for fooding and lodging. college is worth it. good infrastructure. fee for all college conducted events are separate. since it is in siliguri so internships require people to at least go to kolkata maintown salt lake
Fees and Financial Aid
Many opportunities available to students in the form of TFW. Many of my friends availed the facility of getting loans and grants from their respective state govts. Students who are from category reservation get due benefit in this manner.
Campus Life
we enagaged in a lot of online gaming as well online coding contests. Lot of sports activities are conducted. Badminton, track and field, cricket etc are played frequently. Running (endurance and free marathon) both are quite excellent events here. lot of water sports etc also available at the lake in the vicinity with little travel
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are mostly not there. pG system is there. people rent rooms in 2 or 3 seater accomodation. flat are also availbale food is good. security is good. about 60,000 per year for hostel. not a bad deal. accomodation available from 2 seater to 4 seater beds with varying cost.
Alumni/Alumna
few of our alums proceeded to onsite in dubai and belgium as soon as 2 years after college. aluminus are good. but once they pass out, chances to connect are less. many are done with their mba and many are in govt jobs. in tech corporate industry, lot of alums can be found who are at good positions and cguide in career
Admission
got admission through AIEEE/WBJEE. Had good rank in both. needed a good affordable college and i had the need for a btech which my family wanted me to do. all option like iit nit north east nit were closed. hence i went for NSEC
Faculty
faculty are good. they are qualified. everyone an m.tech or atleast pursuing m.tech. faculty teach and complete the syllabus. but most of them are natives of west bengal which creates an issue as it leads to bias on their side in favor of local bengali students.
