Remarks

The university campus is very green and refreshing. Spread out in 800 acres, it is very nurturing and sothing. Though the arts, science and commerce departments are far away, there is timely bus scheduled to take students from one point to another. The facilities and faculties are really helpful.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course structure is well revised, each topic in a subject is taught well with precision. The syllabus is very interesting. The course is combined with labs as well which makes it easier to understand the concepts. The department is well equipped with all facilities and labs and so we never feel a burden of studies. There is a set of internal. The internal exam mark is combined with assignment and seminar performances and averaged to a total of 40 marks. The final exam of each semester is for 60 marks and at the end, the internal and external mark is added and grades and allotted. The grading system is relative grading and so each persons grade depends on the top score of the exam.

Placement Experience

4

My university provides only postgraduate, PhD and PDF courses along with few integrated courses. Placements are provided for engineering and MBA courses. Several IT companies come for the placement drive for engineering postgraduates and banks and other financial companies come for the placement drive for MBA students but I have not much information regarding this. Yes, my college provide internships but I am just a 2nd year student and hence am not eligible to apply for a paid internship yet.

College Events

5

Students from different regions of the country learn in my university. The students organize cultural events which are indigenous to there region. There are special fest organized by the science, arts and commerce departments. Science organize an annual celebration called reflection where faculties from different colleges of the country give talks. Arts organize fest where talks, shows and even sports competitions are held. The biggest fest is organized by commerce known as vanicom, an intercollegiate fest wherein cultural and academic meet is organized. Moreover, many other programs and hostel day celebrations add color to the student life. Student organisation who works for charity organize another major fest for fundraising for orphanage, called Inspire, this is a major platform for artist, musicians, sportsmen, dancers etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is feasible. As mentioned earlier, my university offers integrated PG, PG, PG diploma, PhD and PDF courses and so the fee structure is different for different courses. Each of the course curriculum contains additional features and hence fee structure is fixed as per the standard base. Being a government run University, the fee structure is fixed in such a way which understands the financial status of the students. Fees is paid on semester basis and on not paying in time, we are met with a late fee penalty which increases on a nominal basis with time. Odd semester is the longer semester and hence has a higher fee. I pay a sum of about Rs.7000 for odd semester and Rs.2000 for even semester.

Fees and Financial Aid

Each department provide scholarship on the basis of the previous semester performance. The first three rank holders in the exam is given scholarship on the basis o merit. Remaining in the list upto 4 positions can recieve the scholarship if their family's annual income is less than 2.5 lakh. Other than this, scholarship based on reservation system is also provided but I'm unaware of the details of this.

Campus Life

4.5

My University was in the news for its ranking as India's most gender equal campus, and this is mere truth. There are equal opportunities and respect for all genders. Moreover there are almost equal number of male and female students and there is a healthy interaction between all. The campus is having a healthy politics and there have not been any violence on the basis of politics. There is active LGBTQ society and they have frequent programs as well. Student diversity is massive as students all over India as well as foreign students are present. Everybody involve with each others culture making it a diverse experience. A very secular campus where though students of almost all major religions coexist peacefully.

Hostel Facilities

4

There is almost 13 hostels for boys and 7 hostels for girls. Older hostels are 3 storeyed and new ones are 6 storeyed. Older ones have about 80 rooms while new ones have about 180 rooms. The rooms are on sharing basis. Each room has 3 inmates. Hostel seats are sufficient and the facilities provided are good.

Alumni/Alumna

College seniors are extremely helpful. Be it anything from academics to health, they help the students in almost everything they need. Seniors help us with books, any special notes and old yer questions papers which help us prepare better for our exams. Since seniors are more involved into the subject, they help us to know things which can help us decide our career within our respective field of interest. Alumni network is not very active but some interactions have proven helpful and their success gives us hope for our future.

Admission

I had an immense interest in learning about the Earth. There was a common entrance exam for physics, chemistry and Geology, and once we get placed in the merit list, we are called for the counseling process and admission is provided as per choice of course.

Faculty

5

Faculty of the college are all PhD or PDF holders. The faculties are all well educated from well known colleges and are highly knowledgeable. They teach a particular course with utmost sincerity and interest. They pay attention to each student and the students are free to approach any faculty with doubts. The faculties put in special efforts to make the students understand the concepts, which include showing models, taking students outdoors to show real life situations regarding the topics being taught, making use of projectors etc.
