Remarks

College management should invest more in labs. Fests are somethings students will remember in the long run. So it must be assisted each year.

Course Curriculum Overview

I took Applied electronics and instrumentation Engineering. This department is relatively small unlike other department in the college. There are 5 assistant professors and 3 to 4 lab assistants. Faculties are not that great. However you can expect a placement of 50percent in top tier companies.

Placement Experience

3.5

The placement is above 60 percent and all in top tier companies. There are plenty of drives from smaller companies too. Average package is 3 LPA

College Events

4.5

Regalia is the cultural fest. There is a tech fest Techtrix which has grown over the years. You will enjoy. There is inter college football competition known as GOT and inter college football competition Krirathon. Alumus meet ups also happen every year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Feasible. You can give cheque or cash and is accepted by BOI bank tjat is tied up to the college. There is full transparency as it is a semi government college. The program fee is generally 4lakhs which is lesser than other private colleges. You get a good return after all.

Fees and Financial Aid

I got scholarship named tution fee waiver. You have to secure a better rank than others to obtain it.

Campus Life

This college is rich in culture. From cultural fest to alumnus meet ups it has a strong bond with college parties. Lawn is one of the most beautiful place where students sing and talk in free time. Football is played regularly in playground. Labs still needs to be developed. College invites come in plenty where you can complete at a national level.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

No. But you will get plenty of hostels and PG at cheap cost. Food is also cheap in dhabas here. You get also good restaurants.College does not provide any hostel facility. You will like well with 6000 easily

External Expense: Rs.4000 - Rs.7000

Alumni/Alumna

RCC has a strong alumnus connect. They are now working in top tiers. Ready to help college and present students.

Admission

You can get admission here through WBJEE or JEE mains with a fairly good rank. I got admitted here through WBJEE with Tition fee waiver scheme. Admission happens in August. Follow Wbjee procedure. You will have to go and submit your rank and choice locked in WBJEE counseling and make the payment.

Faculty

3.5

The faculties are good. They are from JU or Shibpur. Faculties are a bit strict with assignments or assessments. Help for final year project is something uou cant get help much. However some teachers were really helpful.l througout. CSE department is the best.

Likes

Supportive Faculty - The professors are highly qualified, approachable and always willing to help students
Free wifi support - There are free wifi support for both student and faculty
Fee Structure - It is very affordable and low compared to other colleges in the region

Dislikes

Placement support is below average, and most studnets have to apply for off campus jobs independently, which is really pathetic in the era of ai where getting a job as a fresher is so difficult
There is no dedicated support or placment cell initiative to help studnets land meaningful summer internships or any kind of internships

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements starting from the 7th semester. For placement drives, we have to visit the main campus, Techno Main Salt Lake (TMSL). Since students from other Techno India campuses and branches also participate, the competition is extremely high. In the 2025–2026 academic year, fewer companies visited. Only two companies, Dronahost and WishCare, visited our specific campus directly. The remaining drives—mostly service-based companies like TCS and EY, along with a few startups—were conducted at the main campus. The remaining drives mostly service based companies like TCS, EY etc and quite a few startups has visited to main campus. The package they offered mostly in between 3.5lpa - 6 lpa. Furthermore the selection process of those startups is quite rigorous often consisting of upto 5 rounds of interview, two technical rounds with two technical interviews, and HR round My plans after getting the degree is either pursue an MBA or preparing for govt jobs

Campus life: Hype vs Truth

Likes

The discipline is followed very strictly. Also you have access to library which is good, teachers are helpful and no ragging policy which is strictly followed and has a decent environment.
Thery conduct seminars which encourages students. Many faculty members are knowledgeable experienced in their respective subjects and helpful willing to solve doubts beyond the classroom also.
The college has decent infrastucture including classrooms, labs and library .

Dislikes

While the curriculum is decent ,it lacks sufficeint practical implementation.More hands on projects, real world application and industry exposure would improve learning significantly.
Campus life can sometimes fell limited in terms of active student interaction.Opportunites for clubs, networking and collaborative activities could be improved.
The college comes under St tHomas School so the campus is not great it is compact and has a canteen.

Placement Experience:

I heard it from seniors that before lockdown it was pretty decent but after lockdown the company visits are not that much comapred to before lockdown.Cognizent, Accenture, Mindtree, PQ360 which is a startup company of our senior alumni etc. visits.

Classrooms are well equipped and are spacious.
There are many fun events that happen in the college

Dislikes

The campus area is too small. The library is not good
The societies are fully controlled by students so huge partiality goes on.
Some of the teachers are mean and are not good.

From the 3rd year onwards , students become eligible for internships and stepping in 4th yr , students get eligible for campus placement. Techno provides decent campus placements according to your marks. Good marks also with skills get you better salary. Minimum 7.5 cgpa is mandatory to have you sit for campus placements. The lowest package is 3.4 LPA and highest vary but students also get 14LPA easily. Wipro, tcs ,cap ,gemini, amazon , ibm etc.

I choosed this college because it is autonomous and government run by the State of West Bengal and is affordable and also has good accessability with satisfactory placement report . Yes i got rejection from some other colleges ,i didnt make it due to my WBJEE rank being not any good .My score was below their cutoff You can join RCCIIT by WBJEE counselling through your JEE or WBJEE scores .Almost 80% students are inducted through WBJEE and 20% is left for JEE students .College has no management quota .The cutoff for WBJEE for RCCIIT starts from 10,000 for CSE and runs upto 90,000 for Electrical Engineering...Read More
