Heritage-where learning is an interactive evolutionary process

The college is equipped with excellent infrastructure and laboratories. The training and placement officer has been successful in bringing many reputed companies for placement. The management of our college is keen in bringing more companies for placement. The students get enough opportunity to get placed within the time span of the four years.

I took JEE and opted for this college by looking at the campus placements of past years and the infrastructure.

The course curriculum had subjects from core electronics and as well as Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. The electives included programming languages like c and java.

The internship experience is very good. I went to Jadavpur University for intern in VLSI design. Many companies came. Bsnl, Miyshibushi, HCl were among the many. The stipend was 3000inr.

Till now more than 80 percent have been placed for the current year. More than 13 companies came so far like TCS, Capgemini, Techmahendra, ITC infotech, Godrej, Ericsson and more. The average package is 3.3lakh INR pa.

Technical events like Dakshh are celebrated every year where talents from the entire state come and show up here. Cultural events include Eclecia where inter college events and singing by eminent personalities take place. Dakhshh is one of the biggest cultural event of any technical college of the state. The management plays vital role in creating funds for the events.

The fee structure was around 38000 INR per semester. It was feasible according to me since the college provided excellent infrastructure and placement.

I got a scholarship from the government but not from college. I got a concession in semester fee because there was a criteria that if my father's income is less than a particular amount then I will be awarded with less semester fee.

The college laid extra emphasis on extracurricular activities like cricket, football, vollyball, basketball. It had equal tolerance for both boys and girls. Many competitions were held where many students participated. The lab facilities have been excellent. There was no barrier for any caste, creed, religion, sex. Girls used to wear salwars and western formal outfits.

I do not live in hostels since I live in the same city. My friends stay there. So I know bit. The hostels were clean and hygienic and healthy foods were served. The average rental with food was 4000 INR.

Our senior students have been quite friendly with the juniors. They were quite interactive and approachable. I became friends with many seniors. They used to play with us.

The exam structure is nice. After 1 and half month from the starting of a semester, one internal exam is conducted. Again after around 2 months, another internal exam is conducted before the final semester exam. The lab exam take place only once in each semester but we have to submit assignment for the same. There was no such hectic day for us.

All the faculties had a minimum of master degree from reputed universities and even from IIT and abroad. The standard of teaching was above average. But could have been better since some of the faculties were just passed out students and had not enough experience of teaching.
