Remarks

The management is good but the infrastructure needs to be developed like the class size.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

The syllabus is set by the university- the University of Calcutta- which is very outdated and there is no room for research driven curriculum. The evaluation process is also very outdated. The syllabus needs to be restructured and the evaluation process needs to be reassessed.

Placement Experience

1

I've done an internship but it was not offered through the college. They don't provide any internships. They don't even ask the students for it. They don't make the students aware of avail of any type of internship.

College Events

1.5

There are certain events organised but they are not very good as the organisers are very unprofessionals and they are not celebrated for the students, just celebrated to push up a formality. The organisers Don't pay attention for the safety and security of the students.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee is affordable and they also provide fees concessions to the needy students. They are very much aware about all these. Even the faculties do the needful in terms of fees. In my batch many of the students got the concession and they also make the concession process very easy and lucid by placing all the fees concession information on their website.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, they provide fees concession to the poor and needy students. Their fees concession process is very lucid and beneficial.

Campus Life

2

Campus life is average and the extracurricular activities are done on a good ratio but they are not encouraging for the students as the teachers are always in the mood to demoralise students. The gender ratio is good and the emphasis on girl education is done very positively.

Hostel Facilities

0.5

There are no hostels. The college doesn't have any hostels to accommodate the students coming from another part of the country or from the same state. The hostel facilities need to be taken care of and it will be very beneficial for the students.

Alumni/Alumna

Some of them are very helpful while some of them treat the junior like they are their servants and some senior treat themselves as the HOD of the department.

Admission

First I applied to this college on the college website. Then I waited for the merit list to come once the merit list came the college instructed to come for counselling. We did our counselling and then we were sent to the office for our admissions charges to be paid. Once the whole process was done we were given date for orientation. Then we attended orientation after that a departmental orientation was organised;after all these we were asked to join classes from next week. I choose this college because it was near to my house and I needed an evening college.

Faculty

3

The faculty is very qualified but they do not encourage students for their betterment but they demoralise the students. Also, the department needs more teachers and the teachers are also unable to complete the whole syllabus. The faculty also conducts seminar but they are not conducted in a positive way.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My passion and a bit of curiosity in International Relations led me to choose this course. The curriculum, in fact, prepared me well for further academic pursuits. For improvement, educational excursions and internship opportunities should be made available. The exam is held twice a year on semester basis, with papers set at a moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

There are limited on campus placement opportunities here, especially for Arts and Eng Hons students. Most students focus on higher studies, competitive exams or off campus opportunities after graduation. The college provides basic guidance through teachers but formal placement drives are rare.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum provides a comprehensive retrospective of literature from the Old English period to Modern period, while also including English works by Indian authors to demonstrate the diversity and evolution of English literature over the years. The current curriculum I believe requires more seminars and lectures from guest faculties on contemporary research and topics.

I really liked geography as a subject for learning and exploring as it includes fieldwork , surveys and excursion which enhances our mind and experience in our life and this way we have many opportunities to learn new things in our life which is helpful for our future purposes. The only improvements I would like to note that to improve the toilet facilities and placement opportunities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I love to read English and it's easy for me so that's why I choose it. There are a total of 50 students in this course. Our teachers are very helpful and talented and also support us. We have 2 semesters after 6 months in 1 year. Exams are comfortable for the students who study the subject. It is difficult for those who do not study.
