Entrance Preview

I took the Best bengal joint entrance examination,that is, WBJEE. And finally opted for this institute for pursuing B.Tech.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is no doubt good. However, I would like to add that it would be better if WBUT stresses on the detailed study of each subject, so that the students get a good perception of each subject in details.This would prove very beneficial on the long run.

Placement Experience

Placements are good,no doubt. Some of the recent companies that visited our campus include TCS, CTS, ITC Infotech, Hexaware, Tech Mahindra, Eclipse solutions. These are the companies to name a few. In all, more than 30 companies visit the campus every year. What is more, the placement statistics has increased as compared to previous years. TCS offered 3.53 L p.a. Tech mahindra offered 3.5 L p.a this year. Hexaware offered 2.5 L p.a , ITC Infotech offered 3.3 L p.a.

College Events

There are several events celebrated in our college, starting from Technical fest to dance competitions. Moreover, each and every student are given a platform to show off their hidden talents. This is one of the best aspects of Narula institute of technology.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is according to the West Bengal University of Technology rules and regulations. You have to pay a sem fees of around 42000/43000 before every semester. There are 8 semesters in all.There is however a tuition fee waiver scheme which the BPL category people can avail of.

Fees and Financial Aid

I did not avail any such offers.So, I am not aware of any such offers or loans provided by our college.

Campus Life

There are several extracurricular activities like debates, quiz, dance competition to name a few. The college provides you with everything that you need to lead a good student life and have a good academic background. Needless to say, there are several sports competetions that bring the students and faculties closer.

Exam Structure

There are 8 sems in all. There are internal exams or slot tests conducted before every sem. There are strict rules for each and every exams. Generally,two or three slot tests are taken for the students. The practical exams are also taken before written exams.

The faculty of NiT, is undoubtedly excellent. Each and every faculty is highly skilled and they do their best in teaching the students. Whenever you need help, they are always there. HODs of each department are excellent. Dr. Saradindu Panda,HOD of ECE dept. is a man of excellence.

The IIT brand value.Great placements and internship opportunities
Competitive peers and lots of ongoing.Great environment
Lush green campus, lots to explore and great infrastructure

Dislikes

Rigorous academics, hectic exam schedules
Hostel infrastructure is quite old and mess food quality is just acceptable.
Professors teaching style can be quite boring as well

Placement Experience:

Placement statistics of IIT Kharagpur is excellent with multiple offers made across software, quant, consulting , analytics and core domain.Major companies like Google, Microsoft, Optiver, Visa,Mastercard visit the campus each year for recruitment.Highest packages are offered by quant companies and can go upto 2 - 2.5 crore per annum

Helpful Faculties, the faculties over here helped us through out the course
Good clean and green campus with water supply at different places in the campus
Structured syllabus for industrial readiness in the curriculum

Dislikes

Nothing such I have disliked, but some classrooms projector did not functioned properly
Some time the guards unnecessarily behaved rude which I hated the most

Placement Experience:

The placement cell provides us with training programs and internships and also if the students are careful and disciplined in the classroms they can crack through job interviews. There is mock viva at the end semester and also some on campus hiring companies came in our college.

mostly from end of third year students start getting campus placements and companies like TCS AND WIPRO HIRE MAJORITY of the students. The average package is 450000 and highest package every year goes upto 9-12 lakhs per annum. I want to go into core Electronics domain for which I am preparing for masters as no core electronics companies come in this college

GOOD College at low fees.

Likes

The campus is very big of the college which is about 50 acres and very greenly campus
The events and clubs with sports held in campus is very good and very happening
The placement opportunities in this college is very good and the faculties are very supportive

Dislikes

The infrastructure is bit old and renovates it bit very late which impact in bit difficulty
The senior are very supportive but at the same time they are very strict regarding the discipline which they call it ragging
The location of the college is bit outside of the main city so you can find it bit difficulty in your starting days of living here

Placement Experience:

Placement of my college are quite good with a avg package of 6 to 7 lpa and higest package of 45 lpa and this year the higest package is 75 lpa. The companies visited in my college are infosys, Capgemini,tcs,wipro, Mindtree,IBM, sometimes amazon also.The placement rate of the college is 85 to 95%.

Likes

The infrastructure of the college is good.I would consider the college as very clean.
The campus life is pretty good but there are strict instructions to freshers to not roam in the campus.

Dislikes

I disliked the condition of the bathroom and the corridor on the first day.
My hostel room was very filthy.The workers charges ₹100 for cleaning it

Placement Experience:

From 4th year students become eligible for placements.Google, Microsoft,Gold Man Sacks, Apple were some of the companies that visited NIT Durgapur For placement regard.The highest package was 80lpa and the average package was 13 lpa.Total of 83% students got placed.The placement is quite good.

use of projector is very helpful for us .
faculties behaviour is good ,they are quite helpful toward us.

small area campus is that what I do not like
canteen facilities are not good enough .
small space library are not enough for all students

after 6th sem those students who scored above 7 CGPA are eligible for campus placements. name of companies- TCS,Campgemini,Accenture,Delloite etc. average package -320000 70 percent most of students got placed. I want to job at IT sector after getting the degree.

Fair college according to me

Likes

The college management is really up to the mark. I am from the computer science and engineering department.
Good placements according to the amount you pay.
Good environment for coding and development.

Dislikes

There are a lot of extra clubs which are not so functional.
Hostels are good but not up to the mark .
The play ground is available but not inside the campus.

Placement Experience:

Our college provide really good placements if the student is really eligible for employment. There are adequate no. Of companies visiting the campus. Some big companies are - MICROSOFT, LAB VANTAGE, DELTAX, RTCAMP, DELOITTE, ACCENTURE, PERSISTENT SYSTEMS, IBM, MUSIGMA, TIGER ANALYTICS, KEY SIGHT TECHNOLOGIES, KEYENCE, MANIKARAN POWER, TCS, E&Y etc. The highest package is around 20 lpa and the avarage is around 5 - 6 lpa. Placements are better for cse, it and ece. The core branches have mediocre placements.

The library system is good. With many authors and writers available.
The faculty is helpful and coperative.The faculty helps the students in their studies and day to day problems faced in the college.
The classrooms are enough big to accommodate the strength chosen by the faculty.

Dislikes

The labs are not very well equipped. The monitors and PC are back dated versions.
The washrooms are not very well maintained and they stink.
The faculties are not very helpful in the project work and personal academic life of the students.

Placement Experience:

From 4th year students are allowed to sit for placement. Tcs, wipro, Capgemini are the mass recruiters of our college. Other companies visit as well Deloitte, accenture and many more. The average package being is 4 lakhs per annum and the highest being around 10 lakhs per annum.

The college campus is very big and beautiful.
The cultural fests and annual fest is also great.
The ganga ghat is really close from the college.

Dislikes

The faculty is bullshit .some profs are ok,but some are horrible.
The college hostels accommodation is really bad
The ratio of girls to boys is very poor.

Placement Experience:

The campus placement is okay and companies like google, Microsoft, Capgemini ,Tata,Mahindra also comes during placement.The off campus placement record is also fantastic.The were scenarios in the past years where few students got packages like 50-70 lpa.

Average Makaut college with no placements.

Likes

You can focus on gate, or any other job teachers are helpful no issue of attendance.
easily pass as syllabus is not hard,and get a B.tech degree.

Dislikes

poor infracture, lack of resources such as sports facility.
Less qualified teachers with no PHDs, and familiar with basic knowledge.
No placements, whatever you can do is off campus only

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is perceived as average , lacking specific elements that might make it stand out. In my case, the motivation was not to waste a year by opting for a drop. The flexibility in attendance which let me focus on other interests. The curriculum is same as MAKAUT, and the exam frequency is also controlled by MAKAUT .Areas of improvement is infrastructure and better faculty.

The Most Detailed Review of Narula Institute of Technology, Kolkata

There are 3 ways of getting into the college that I am aware of : WBJEE Counselling, Management Quota and Lateral Entry (Thru JELET, for students with a diploma). The lateral entry gives you admission in the second year if you have a valid diploma and appear for the JELET exam. Since i am a regular admission student, i will talk about the first two methods only. There is an exam called West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) which follows the same syllabus as JEE but with a different pattern of paper. If you get a decent rank, you will be alloted this college in the counselling process. If you have a bad score in your JEE exam and you didn't appear for WBJEE exam then you will have to go to the management quota route. You have to pay an additional amount of 2-6 lakhs (depending on the demand, branch and intake of students) on the top of the total fees. My advice is that if you can afford to pay that extra money then go to Heritage Institute of Technology cause they have better placement and location. If you decide through counselling than Narula should be one of your priorities. The overall admission process is the same in all other colleges because they admission is conducted through WBJEE counselling and not the college itself. If you live far away then it may be a problem for you because you will need to come to the college for registration and stuff for atleast 3 times within the span of 2 weeks. My priority list of WBJEE counselling also had Haldia Institute of Tech, Heritage Institute of Tech, Techno Main SaltLake, Academy of Tech, and Narula. My rank was 29k so i was getting Cybersecurity in Haldia, CSBS in Tech Main, CBSC in AOT and IT in Narula. So I chose Narula out of the available options because i didnt want to take any specilisation branch. In 2024, the closing rank of IT in Narula was around 58k in the mop up round (third round). This is one of the Best private college among the all private colleges, that's hold 3 rd position in the West Bengal among the all private colleges. The College campus is too much good.
