Remarks

It's a government medical college in a good city like hyderabad. The facilities are okay. Faculty is good too. Hostel facilities are better than other government colleges. As there are 13 hospitals under Osmania there is a lot to learn from all the exposure in the final year.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course is long but interesting. The curriculum has been updated for the 2019 batch with the addition of SPM (Social and preventive medicine) for 1st year students too. It has become more application based. Faculty is good and labs are functioning well.

Internships Opportunities

The internship is included in the final year of the course in the hospitals under our college itself. The stipend for interns is Rs. 22000 per month and for postgraduates is about 40000 to 50000 per month.

Placement Experience

4.5

Most students prefer to prepare for Post graduation and join postgraduate studies. Some go on to get fellowships and other diplomas. Some students also prefer to work as apprentices or work to gain experience about the profession.

College Events

3

Osmania conducts two major fests- Osmecon which is a medical conference which provides a good opportunity for medical students across the country to learn. The second is the cultural fest- Beats which has different events under it. Other sports fests are also conducted.

Campus Life

3

Infrastructure is okay. There is no wifi in the campus except in the E- library. The library is good. Equipment in labs is a little outdated but works good enough. There is a gym, tennis court, basketball court, football ground, cricket pitch and other indoor games.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

The hostel is mostly for people from outside hyderabad. The facilities are okay. There is a mess and washing machines to wash clothes. All toilets are of the indian types. The PG hostel is different from the UG hostel. In the UG hostel there are sharing rooms with 3,4 or 5 people in each room. For final year students single rooms are also available.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is CBME approved, so there's no need to worry about the curriculum. The National Medical Commission (NMC) has introduced a new Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) curriculum for the MBBS program in India. This curriculum focuses on practical, patient-centric learning, integrating subjects, and early clinical exposure. It emphasizes the development of specific competencies, such as clinical skills, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities. The curriculum is divided into three phases: Foundational, Organ System-Based Clinical, and Clinical. Assessment includes continuous assessment, practical exams, theory exams, and OSCEs.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The fact that this course provides you a very dignitorial position in society attracts me the most into it. The financial benefits are also quite impressive. The curriculum extending for 5.5 years provides you all the required knowledge to practice as a general doctor in the country. There is a total of 19 subjects for 4.5 years in total. 1 year rotatory internship in various clinical department in affiliated hospital gives you very good clinical exposure also. The internship here is stipended by ?26000-/- per month. Every year mcc is renewing the syllabus according to to demands of indian medical system. Frequency of exams are quite adjustable upto rth year. 4th year is quite hectic and tiring with syllabus.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is made according to our ability to grasp when we come out of our board exams. The first year might be considered a little touch but it in general is quite different and I personally enjoy studying it . Exams are a bit stressful but if a person has already studied then the tension gets distributed and it feels like nothing.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have chosen this course as I dreamt of becoming a doctor since I was a child. In our college, the faculty is good and are qualified enough. They teach the basic things and make us learn things in a clear way. There will be two internal exams, one prefinal exam in every year. Those with an average of 50% in internal exams are allowed to write the final exams. There is quite a difficulty in passing the final exam as there is a vast syllabus.
