I took admission to this college as I thought it would be a good college for my computer science career, but eventually, it is not. I realized it after my 1st year in the I.T. branch, the college is only for show off and advertisement, not for better curriculum, and skill growth.
Course syllabus always gets completed at the end of the semester on peak point. In 4 year course, the total industrial visits and workshops are only 5, which is very little for a student to learn more. Most of the faculties were temporary based and new with no experience, young aged, but some are best, like Nirala Sir who taught me Compiler design, and ITC subject.
In my 3rd year, I have done internship for 3 months in 3D designing in K.K Industries Faridabad, Industrial area. I got a stipend amount of 10000 for a total of 3 months. The process was simple, I have to search online for an internship, once I chose where and when I have to do my internship, I gave an application to the college for giving me a reference letter from the college side. With that letter and my resume and certificates, I gave my interview in the company for an intern and got selected.
The placement cell of the college is the worst. There have no good companies that came into the college. And the companies that came for campus placements were only startups, some were sales and marketings. Every company had major bonds and less salary. If any students want to join a good top fortune 500 companies of India, then he/she has to apply for outside of campus placement.
College annual fests were moderate, some stars come and sing, dance with the students. Sometimes the comedian comes for the stand-up comedy. There is a picnic only for first-year students. The singing, art, dance, sports events occur every year.
No, there is no loan facility provided by the college. The loan has to be taken by the student from the bank side or another. The scholarship is for the students who get 85% marks in the semester that ends with good attendance.
There is no wifi for students, the library is good for around 40-45 students, with good books, labs are many, but most of them are only for show off and remained off, only the old labs kept open for everything. The college only opens the new labs only on admission time, to show how much they study on campus.
I haven't opted hostel, so I cannot tell much, but it is very costly, with fewer facilities. Many students had left the hostel after joining for 1 year and taken PG nearby the college. The hostel warden was tough as I heard from the students. Also, there remains chaos and rough times in the hostel hence many students preferred PG with cheap and better facilities.
From their 5 semesters, students are eligible for campus internships and placements after that many companies visit the campus some big companies are Google, Adobe, Amazon...etc avg package offered is 4.5Lpa and the highest was 27.5Lpa placement percentage depends on the branch as cse/csit/cs/it has 100% placement records i want to get placed in big tech giants
From the 6th semester students still in various exams conducted by various companies in the institution. Students from 4th year majorly opt for training in companies like Wipro, Infosys, etc. MNCs like Infosys, Wipro, tcs approach the college for college recruitments and for other big MNCs you need to go for an off-campus placement. Previous years record conveys that Infosys recruits the majority of the students on an average package of 3 or 3 lakh 20 thousand. And highest package is received by power programmers of 8 to 12 lakhs depending on the skills. College claims 60 to 80 percent of placements but the records say something different. I'm willing to go for government job after getting the degree because if it doesn't work I have a secure degree and therefore can go for jobs.
Students are eligible to take part in a college placement drive during their 3rd year in the UG degree. From what I've heard, the placement committee is good, and the companies offering placement are the top companies in India including the top auditing firms like Infosys, HCL, WIPRO, etc.
I chose MNNIT Allahabad as it is one of the best engineering colleges in north India. Moreover, it has great coding culture and placement statistics. The institute is 60+ years old and thus has a great alumni base, to take guidance from. Plus, it was the first college in India to start a Computer Science and Engineering branch. The admission process takes place through JoSAA after giving Jee Mains exam. I read various blogs on quora for comparing my own college with other IITs and NITs and came to the conclusion that I will choose MNNIT.
Our college is quite well known for campus placements and average as well as highest package is very good. Companies visiting for software development are very good including Microsoft, Amazon, DE Shaw, Goldman Sachs, Myntra, Flipkart, Codenation, etc. More than 90% of the students get placed (in software field) every year and the rest opt for higher studies or civil services or entrepreneurship. I want to go for corporate job after getting my B.Tech degree.
Placements are been offered from the 6th semester. Many companies are visiting in college. The whole year companies are coming and offering jobs to students. Average package is about 4 lakhs per annum and the highest is more than 8-10 lakhs. Percentage required is just 60%. After getting the degree I have planned for the job. Ist I will go for govt jobs than private.
The infrastructure of our college is of top quality. Facilities like classrooms, Wi-Fi, labs, etc, available in our college are good. Facilities are easily available to students. The library is too good for anyone to sit and study for long hours. Teachers in our college are very helpful, and they are always available to help us. They plan the schedule in a very effective way. Many teachers are PhD holders. They have good knowledge of their subjects, both practical and theoretical. The course curriculum is relevant, and it mainly focuses on what industry demands.
