Remarks
The teachers are rock solid, the university is very old and famous, the laboratory and the library are well maintained and more importantly, the tuition fees for engineering course being government aided is very low. Overall, the correct approach.
Course Curriculum Overview
The syllabus is a backdated. Could have been more interesting with the current scenario. Industrial exposure is limited. You can say it's almost zero. Faculties include Sunirmal Khatua who is in my opinion, one of those teachers whom you can learn from for hours and not get bored or tired. He teaches organisation and architecture along with oop.
Placement Experience
The placement could have been better though. There's an entrepreneur cell and a placement cell but those are mostly for the name. The professors out there has a very good connection and can sort out the placement process.
College Events
There's a yearly technical fest called reflexion that includes a reunion of the last 34 years from the Computer Science department. It's a 13 days long fest that includes coding competition, gaming, and outdoor games including football cricket and badminton as well as Kabaddi. The campus life is from 10-5 Monday to Friday. Life is rigid as expected in enginneering college. Teachers can be a bit stuck up.
Campus Life
Wifi is strong, library and lab are very well maintained. The campus is clean. The computers are upgraded regularly. The rooms are big in size and are air-conditioned. The buildings are clean and the toilet is too. The campus although lacks green fields but makes up because it's in a very quiet neighbourhood.
Hostel Facilities
I haven't. But Calcutta University hostels are also well maintained and are allotted according to the maximum distance from home, but the base criteria have to be 60 kms minimum. There's sharing for others and individual rooms for postgraduates and researchers. It's a fairly easy process as I have heard, you need to submit a few documents though.
