Remarks
On an overall, the college is pretty good compared to hundreds of colleges in Tamil Nadu itself. The facilities it offers and the amount of time spent of training for companies and stuff is worth the pick.
Entrance Preview
I got it through Tamil Nadu HSC Exam councelling and I scored 93%. I chose CSE because I was fascinated from the first itself to know about computers.
Course Curriculum Overview
The new Curriculum for my batch included some distinct subjects like open source software which indeed motivated me. The faculty are very supportive in clearing doubts and asking for references to books. They also guide us in terms of any project we intend to do in any year of college.
Internships Opportunities
The internship was pretty neat. I got into Infosys and the intern happened in their Mysore campus. I was able to learn the company stuff to a good extent. Also I understood the expectations and worked hard to be on par with it.
Placement Experience
On my knowledge we had around 30+ companies visiting us by which most of us got offered and so it was a decent experience. The job quality is decent. Our college didn't accept any low profile companies also. We also had 3 huge recruiters like Infosys coming it and even departments other than CSE and IT got their share too.
College Events
We usually keep a symposium in every department. Our's is called Tejas and it consists of events like programming contests, managerial events and also ones for fun. Main focus is on Paper presentations where in a lot of newer ideas are born. Also the fun in organizing it is a different experience.
Fees and Financial Aid
We have an alumni scholarship and others that are provided by the government or any other non-governmental organizations. They tend to be helpful for students. my close friend was one among the students who got benefited out of it.
Campus Life
Campus life was fun filled and rather I miss it a lot now. We had equal number of buys and girls in our class. And coming to diversity, we had people from states other than Tamil Nadu like, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka and Maharashtra too. Sports was a marvelous thing because even those who were not in the college team had events to participate.
Alumni/Alumna
Myself, as an alumni, me and my friends go to College for functions and to give lectures and also play a vital role in motivating students. We also would mentor few of our juniors so that they understand what the industry needs would be.
