Remarks
Overall college has been good to me. I made good friends, spent good days there. Got placed from college. The thing college needs to improve is taking less admissions. In our time, every major branch had around 400-500 students. For CS/IT it is okay but for core branches, getting a core company placement is hard as they generally take 1-5 candidates.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum is good and well-organised. It's distributed with credits of each and every subjects, labs, projects etc. A fair distribution is done by the institution. In final year you do get a chance to opt for subjects of own choice. First year it will be same for all and branch studies will start from 2nd year. If you score good in 1st 2 semesters then you can opt for changing your branch in 2nd year, if you want to.
Placement Experience
Placement is good. It's generally divided into phases. CS and IT branches get a more number of opportunity as compared to others. College too focuses on students from 3rd year by taking Training & Placement classes.
College Events
Our annual fest is KIIT FEST which is celebrated in Feb/March in which all the students from each department can participate and go. Every year a Bollywood singer is invited. I too have seen Sunidhi Chauhan, Salim, Benny Dayal etc. Mech department also conduct their own event called Yantriki.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee is little expensive. On the counselling day we were told to bring a demand draft of 64000RS. This fees was for securing the admission and a laptop which will be provided after joining college. When I got admission it was 11000RS/semester tuition fees. Generally RTGS/NEFT is done. You can also pay it in cash/cheque.
Fees and Financial Aid
I haven't opted for it, but on the day of counselling many bank representatives will be there to assist in getting the education loan. Also schoarship is for top rankers in KIITTEE. I am not very sure, whether its for just top 3 or top 10.
Campus Life
Gender ratio is dependent on the branch. As I was in mechanical, a class of 72 students, 6 were girls. But in CS and Electronics departments the ratio is generally 1:1. There is a KSAC centre where many societies in college are run. Notably societies for photography, literature, social works etc.
Alumni/Alumna
Generally college conducts KIIT Alumni meet in different metro cities from time to time. For this you need to be updated on facebook. Recently KIIT Alumni has started sending mails too, so the information would be shared in that as well.
Admission
Entrance is through KIITTEE exam. Form is free to fill. Back in 2013 I cleared and was called for counselling on first day, somewhere around 4/5 June. Generally on the first day of counseling people mostly opt for CSE, Mechanical and Electrical branches. College started from 6th August.
Faculty
Faculty in college is an adequate mixture of new and experienced professors. Generally faculties in 1st year will be Assistant Professors with less experience but as you get to your department, a bunch of professors with wrinkles on face, explaining their age and expertise can be seen.
