It's a decent college, well connected, decent placements.
Course curriculum is inclined with MAKAUT, which was formerly known as West Bengal university of technology. The exams are conducted by makaut itself. Every semester we had around 4-5 theory subjects with 4-5 practical subjects as well. Lab exams are conducted by college, whereas written exams are by the university.
I passed out in 2018, the on campus placements was decent. I got a job in the first company that came through, ie Capgemini. Some 35 others got the same. But after that it was mostly off campus placements. But even due to that almost 90pct of people got placed as they kept trying. So getting a job won't be that difficult if you are good. If you are not you would need to keep learning and moving forward.
There are 3 major fests. The sports fest is called game of thrones, the cultural festival is regalia and the tech fest is Techtrix. Apart from that every department also organizes some internal fests as well. Everyone is welcome to either organize them or participate.
Fee structure could be found in company website. But it would be around 40k+ per semester. The mode of payment if through bank, which is located quite close to the campus itself. Other than that there is some deduction dine to TFW students. Other than that there are no extra fees.
No applied for either scholarship or loan. But if you're a TFW holder you can get subsidy on your fees by a large amount.
Campus life is decent. Gender ratio is quite good. There are multiple fests that involves the extracurricular activities. From sports, to robotics you will find people inclined on these topics on the campus. Labs are quite good, ECE department had around 120 computers for the students other electronics labs were good too.
There are no hostels provided by this college although people from other places had no problem finding a pg quite closeby. You can find a decent flat/pg near chingrighata with minimal cost. It will be walking distance from the college.
Not much of alumni network presence can be found. But feel free to reach out to others. But there is no initiative from the college to do so.
I gave wbjee and aieee in April, after that I got a seat in rcciit during online counselling that was conducted during the month of July, once I paid all the fees and other formalities were sone, college started college in August in 2014. Admission process in college is based on either rank in wbjee or aieee.
Faculty in ECE department was average. Mostly the teaching was either theoretical or research oriented. If you need an insight on the industry standpoint, they won't be able to help you, as they themselves have never worked beyond academia. Teaching quality was also average.
Tech companies and hubs such as TCS, Infosys, LTI, Wipro , Tech Mahindra , CTS come here for giving placements to deserving candidates. And the average salary is 4-5 LPA and highest salary is 12 LPA. Thus it's in par with industrial level.
Students become eligible for placements in the fourth year i.e from the seventh semester. Various companies visit such as Infosys, which has a special collab with this college, TCS, HCL, etc. And offers made 18/19. The highest package is 12 lacs from Jaro. 75% of students were placed. After getting a degree I will opt for placements in good companies such as Amazon, Goldman Sachs, etc. or I will also give the GATE exam if selected I will do M. Tech.
When promoted to the 7th semester, students become eligible for campus placement. Many multi-national companies like TCS, Tech Mahindra, Accenture, BPO, etc. The average package is about 5-6 LPA and the highest package is about 20 LPA. About 40% of students get placed in reputed companies every year.
The placement record has been so good. If you are good at coding and all those fields you won't need any specific year. You can opt for an internship in any year. But yeah college makes company come for an interview in the 6-7 th semester. If you are maintaining good grades then you can easily get an average package. But yes if you are from the core department then the placement scene not too good. for related jobs, you have to be having good grades. If you haven't studied any college can give you a job. The placement cell also helps a lot. Most of the students with average grades get placed while pool campus placement. College also helps in off-campus placement.
1st need to appear in WBJEE OR JEE main. I choose this college in the counselling process for the respective entrance exam. after the result if got this college then come and contact the college's authority. On that day or a few days later and the college authorities will take other responsibility to proceed with the further admission process.
Overall it is a good college for the students who want to study and work hard. College provides them a basic support to achieve their goal. College also have some collaborations with industrial companies and MNCs which help them to have a great advantage in their advancement of technology.
