Good quality engineering education

ECET , After doing my diploma, i have written ECET. Got state 9th rank and admitted into the FDH program of NITW in 1999.

No, i didnt do any internship. Its not mandated in our college atleast at the time of my education. We did our own internal projects as a part of cirriculam, but nothing in direct alignment with the industry.

Placements are great and are best in class. During my time, all the great companies (Infosys, Wipro, LnT, Samtel, Alstom, Deshaw, Gujarat Gas etc) visited the campus.

Spring Spree is the offical college cultural event, where collages across the country participate and network. Right from the adrenaline rushing debates to the antakshari and dance performance, competitions shall be held. I did win in Anthakshari during 2002 event.

At my time, fee is around INR 6200 / year. Which primarily covers the fee for getting the admission into college. Beyond that there will be books / food and other expenses.

Campus life is great. It offers great alround development. Person who is interested in sports, can excel in that direction. But again, it depends on student to student. Am pretty studious and hence i excelled in academics.

This is one place, i feel that the college lacks. I dont think, we have a good alumni network, which shall help in future professional growth. Recently some attemps are made to create network, but nothing substantial.

Exams are scheduled at regular intervals. I never felt they were hectic. But again this depends on person to person.

Faculty are good. Barring one or two, rest are real gems. They guide us through future plans and also encourage the students based on the interest. For eg: we never had FEM as a part of curriculam, but based on interest, we were advised to join the classes where FEM is a part of curriculam. I even got a chance to get my work published in an international journal.
