Awesome college

PET (Pre Engineering Test) was the entrance exam which was conducted across the MP state and based on the score I got into NIT Raipur.

Physics, Maths and Chemistry was major subject for the entrance test. It was with negative marking. Very tricky questions and given the time limitations of 3 hours for 100 questions it was more difficult. Ensuring you complete all questions and also ensuring do not get negative marks.

There was no stipend those days, getting into company to complete internship was very difficult. I got to do my internship in india's largest petro chemical plant. It was really good experience to see practically what was taught in theory.

There were no much placement opportunities. I applied through my own job search and through news paper adds. I got into flagship company of Birla group as my first job. Probably i was lucky to get 3 jobs before the results were out.

We conducted quiz and really made it like TV show. Apart from that we had many other events such as Alumni Meets of seniors. College annual day programs. Sports events. I played for College TT team till state level. I also played in college cricket team.

It was not required as our college fees was too low. It was completely funded by Govt of India. For SC/ST and OBC quota students fees was almost nil, infact they were used to get scholarship to manage their living expenses and books.

Campus life was too good. We had large grounds, extremely well to play all the sports. We had extremely well labs, infact we had cryogenic engine lab as well, which was first across whole India.

College seniors were too goo, those days we were used to have raging. But that raging was good, as it was used to bring seniors and jouniors very close. Seniors were used to guide and coach us on day to day basis. It was like a large family environment.

It was semester system. Every 6 months we were used to have exams to write. It was good, as once you clear the semester you start the next semester. Instead of annual system, semester system is more effective and less burden on students.

Faculties were extremely well qualified and knowledgeable. It was extremely good time to get such dedicated faculty. Faculty were used to take lots of pains in ensuring every student is up to the mark, every one is attending classes and on need basis they were used to take extra classes.
