Remarks

Our college provides an auditorium which can accommodate up to 150 students at one go. There is a spacious common room for activities such as indoor games ( chess, carom board, dancing rooms) etc. A separate grievance cell is also there were the students can give their feedback about the college premises/staff in the complaint box. NSS unit of the college regularly organised health camps and medical check ups. My college aims at developing humanitarian/personal consciences which would further draw our inherent abilities in future course of action.

Course Curriculum Overview

Duration of the course is three years divided into six semesters with specialization in the field of economics. The subjects taught are theory of consumer behavior & production, welfare economics, graphs and equations, central tendency, Keynesian system, economic policy, trade cycles, stock exchange etc. The course aims at providing conceptual & analytical understanding of subjects to the students so that we can apply this knowledge practically in various business fields.

The total for first year is 3,096 which is very nominal. The second & third year charges are 2,911 each. Thus the grand total for three years is 8,918.

Campus Life

An annual picnic is organised by the college every year for the teachers and the students. The drama club of the college organises activities such as drama/skits and reading which are to be performed by the students to stage them in English/Hindi/Bengali etc languages. Music club grooms the students to participate in singing stage shows. Dance club trains the students in folk and classical dances. The sports club conducts an annual sports fest and send the women who are exceptionally perfect in one sport to compete in state/national and university levels.

Admission

The student should have passed class 12th from a recognized board with 50% marks and in Science stream. The admission is done on the basis of merit and the marks are allotted on the performance of the nest four subjects in class 12th. Apply online for the course and upload the documents. You will be called for a documentation process if your name appears in the merit list and thereafter granted admission.

Faculty

4.5

Teachers of our department are very knowledgeable and most of them are Phd holders in the subject. We are told about the budget techniques and the channelizing effective & economical use of the resources that are available in order to produce maximum output. Assignments on money & capital market, public finance, taxation, data analysis & trends forecasting etc and various other topics are given to us to check whether we are understanding the subject better or not.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My passion and a bit of curiosity in International Relations led me to choose this course. The curriculum, in fact, prepared me well for further academic pursuits. For improvement, educational excursions and internship opportunities should be made available. The exam is held twice a year on semester basis, with papers set at a moderate to difficult level.

There are limited on campus placement opportunities here, especially for Arts and Eng Hons students. Most students focus on higher studies, competitive exams or off campus opportunities after graduation. The college provides basic guidance through teachers but formal placement drives are rare.
