Extremely Interactive cultural events in campus.
Faculty/Professors are always available for any kind of assistance
Safe and secured Campus. Very good environment.

Dislikes

No decent canteen in campus. Food is nowhere near.
Very difficult commute. Long walk from the nearest metro.
No stationary shops nearby. Students need to go far for getting supplies

Course Curriculum Overview

Literature has been my passion. The curriculum quenches the thirst of my passion. It is by far enlightening and very informative. Some changes are required though. The Masters' curriculum should have some research based work.

Class Size: 50Course Fees: INR 18000 per year

Placement Experience

There were no official placements notices for our department as we are Literature students. But for others they provide good placements with good packages. For us the college provides NET and other government examinations classes for the aspirants.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees per semester- 9000 there per year it is 18000. MA english is a 2 year course. This is the fixed amount for everyone. Government provided scholarships like Vivekananda Student Scholarship and other relevant scholarships are accepted.

Campus Life

MA is a short course but in this we had various presentations and seminars held. We published our departmental journal, celebrated Shakespeare's birthday. Other cultural events like college fest, saraswati pujo etc are also celebrated.

Admission

Classes are more regular. The college follows strict discipline. The faculty members are very nice and most importantly the college ambience is very suitable for learning. With regular classes professors here also provide relevant notes and materials for better preparation for exams compared to other colleges.

Faculty

There are 4 permanent professors and around 5 or 6 guest lecturers for an approx of 40-50 students. Each and every professors are equally helpful and approachable. They definitely never fail to make a student feel at home. Curriculum includes insightful texts which help in development of knowledge and builds a strong base.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The Pros and Cons of Joining Jadavpur University Masters of Arts in Economics

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for applying for internships after the 3rd semester, and students can apply for placements only after 4th semester. Companies like Ericsson, Ernst and Young, JPMG makes visits our department for mostly analyst roles for economic and fundamental trading decisions. The highest offer made was 45LPA while the average is 7.5LPA. The median pakage is 8LPA. Almost 90% students secure placements after completing their degree since the Training and placement cell is pretty proactive in securing good company visits. I plan for investing and analyst roles in banking companies. I would sit for placements hoping for the same.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because I had a keen interest in this subject. The faculty was very good, including the staff members and the academic teachers as well. The teachers were highly qualified and helped a lot in their studies. The exams were held timely under the supervision of the college staff members.

There were no campus placement. l have planned to be a teacher after completing this course. No company offers job in that campus. All the students have to struggle in their way for getting job.

Good College with Excellent teachers

Admission:

For pursuing Post graduation students never have to appear in any entrance examination. I passed my graduation from this college in the English department securing 65% of marks and hence choose this college for postgraduation as well.

Remarks:

The program of distance learning from University of Kalyani is the best Distance learning program at that I have ever come across. The distance program provides all of the facilities same as any regular program which makes it a wonderful option for all of the student who cannot afford to go to college regularly.

The untold voice of a Student.

Remarks:

I am both positive and negative marks started with positive the factories where very good well well qualified there is no ragging the environment is eco friendly people very helpful there is no senior junior bond everyone is equal. The negative were enormous starting with the infrastructure in some places there are new buildings halls which are not even maintained and that's the biggest problem facilities are not given to student in the hostel so much carelessness is there in the routine work people are very lazy to do their working time authority is very slow to do their workrecreational activities other than academics are very less a student didn't get the time for recreational and facilities were also not there I come modern infrastructure universities should be so we have to change this things to do the university prosper in the later year in the first and foremost thing is determination a that everyone should give efforts to make our university Pride and worthful.

Positive remarks are that its study process is very good, teachers are friendly and helpful... Seniors behave well to the students... College extra caricular activities are also pretty good.. Negetive remark is that it is far from urban areas.

Our college provides an auditorium which can accommodate up to 150 students at one go. There is a spacious common room for activities such as indoor games ( chess, carom board, dancing rooms) etc. A separate grievance cell is also there were the students can give their feedback about the college premises/staff in the complaint box.
