Remarks

This college provided great facilities and is one of the best college in west bengal.great set of faculties and a good environment for students and also has great infrastructure and sports facilities.

Placement Experience

3.5

This college does not provide jobs after a BBA. But if you are pursuing an engineering and BCA degree there are great job opportunities and almost all the students are placed under those streams. Companies like Cognizant, TCS are common companies to visit for placements.

College Events

We had clubs for each activities and we were also put onto rotaract club. The college organised great fests and it attracted other colleges to take part in it.overall its a great experience and it is good that they provide with facilities that are required to freshen up your mind

Fees and Financial Aid

Student loan is there to help and scholarship facilities are not provided by the college. They tend to give medals to great results by a student. Although I havent availed it and to add to that I have little knowledge about that to be honest.

Campus Life

Everything was well managed and we never fell short of any facilities thats required. We had courts for basketball, tennis and football and cricket fields to add up. Swimming pool for swimmers and lastly a shooting area.

Hostel Facilities

The hostels were cheap and had maintained hygiene factors. The rooms were on a sharing basis. The hostels are divided among boys and girls and it is easy to avail hostel facilities. The room rent was not that costly and it did prove to be a great deal seeing the facilities which were up for grab.

Hostel Fee: INR 70000 per year

Scottish Church College: A Journey Worth Remembering

Likes

Fixed timetable Classes, regular assessment and class test
The professors are very qualified and their teaching style is excellent.
A lot of books are available in the main library as well as in the department library

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus and curriculum of Calcutta University is aligned with other entrance examination (eg.IIT JAM, JEST, TIFR, GATE etc.) Specially for the Physics BSc course. And the syllabus is updated Artificial intelligence bacis, Python Advance level is in syllabus, it's completed in college. Point to be Noted - The time given to prepare for the exam is sometimes ample but sometimes it is very less. So we have to prepare syllabus in time which is little bit frustrating.

Campus life: Hype vs Truth

Likes

The discipline is followed very strictly. Also you have access to library which is good, teachers are helpful and no ragging policy which is strictly followed and has a decent environment.
Thery conduct seminars which encourages students. Many faculty members are knowledgeable experienced in their respective subjects and helpful willing to solve doubts beyond the classroom also.
The college has decent infrastucture including classrooms, labs and library .

Dislikes

While the curriculum is decent ,it lacks sufficeint practical implementation.More hands on projects, real world application and industry exposure would improve learning significantly.
Campus life can sometimes fell limited in terms of active student interaction.Opportunites for clubs, networking and collaborative activities could be improved.
The college comes under St tHomas School so the campus is not great it is compact and has a canteen.

Placement Experience:

I heard it from seniors that before lockdown it was pretty decent but after lockdown the company visits are not that much comapred to before lockdown.Cognizent, Accenture, Mindtree, PQ360 which is a startup company of our senior alumni etc. visits.

Likes

The campus is big and full of greenery with the vibrant feel of nature.
The students of the same batch are friendly and helpful.
The teacher's are friendly and helpful. They do provide helpful recommendations for the betterment of your future.

Dislikes

The seniors are overly harsh when it comes to 1st year.
The infrastructure could be worked on. The college lacks renovation.
The hostel does require everyday cleaning and renovation as well as the campus.

Placement Experience:

I don't know much about this but I guess from the sixth semester the students are eligible for campus placements. This year a student from AEIE got a package of 11.2 lacs per annum and the average is around 4 lacs per annum.

The Framework is said to be great, with well equipped classroom and simply get to the libraries.
The offices at this college are great. In any case, these changes depending on the quality of the companies going by the college and the victory of the internship changes by the internship.
Understudies appreciate the campus life and flexibility to associate with others understudies. However, there are few impediments such as the division of floors between senior and junior. College life is nice and could be an inviting place for others

Dislikes

The college doesn't have lodging, and understudies must organize their settlement locally.
The college doesn't have a big field to play like any other big college

Placement Experience:

In Syamaprasad College placements and internships are given to the final year students. And the companies that offer placements are Accenture, Deloitte, KPMG, etc. The highest package goes up to 20-24 lakhs and the average package goes to 6-8 lakhs. 70-80% of students get their placement in my college. At that time I planned to get the degree and apply to a multinational company with a high salary package with company facilities.

A Great Learning Experience with a Vibrant Campus Life

I chose The Heritage Academy for its structured BCA program, experienced Faculty, and good infrastructure at an affordable cost. Its location within the city was also a key factor. ai applied to Techno India, Iem and Amity Kolkata - Techno India had mixed reviews and was slightly expensive - IEM highly competitive with strict cutoffs - Amity Kolkata the fee structure was too high Considering affordability and quality education, Heritage Academy was the best choice. Admission process:- - 12th pass with Mathematics/Computer science as a subject - Admission is based on CET score, but direct admission is also available for some seats - no fix cutoff, but 60% + student preference...Read More

The Heritage Academy - All you need to know

I applied to Jadavpur University through their entrance exam, however i was not selected there due to my low scores in their entrance exam. Then through various research I found out about the course of BCA in internet, since I had taken a year drop I found it would be perfect for me. Then through internet I found out heritage is one the best colleges in bengal for studying the BCA. The admission criteria of Heritage is quite simple, you need a minimum marks of 60 percentage in your 10th and 12th and you have to be eligible for their entrance exam CET. Overall the admission process is very smooth....Read More

Media Science at THA: Is it worth it?

In order to apply for BMS, we had to fill a Common entrance test(CET) form and appear for the exam. Now you will qualify for the college according to the rank you acquire after the results of the test. My first preference was The Heritage Academy. The other options include iLead and Techno Main Salt Lake. But I chose THA solely because of the faculty and campus life. I also got selected for admission at St. Xaviers University, Kolkata. But I chose The Heritage Academy because it edges over others in terms of quality faculty members, engaging college life, and an anti-ragging campus. After clearing the CET conducted by MAKAUT, I had to clear a round of personal interview with respected Dean Ma'am of the Media Science department....Read More
