Remarks
I chose this University because firstly, it provides an honours degree in almost every subject, which is not the case in many Universities. Secondly, your selection is based on your talent, if you crack the entrance exam, you get admission. Thirdly, it is a central university and its degree holds good value and weightage in the market.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is thorough and instructive. Our syllabus provides us with a good understanding and knowledge of various literary pieces that belong to different centuries and countries. It also includes the translation of literary pieces of other languages as well. The faculty members are experienced and have deep knowledge of their respective subjects.
Internships Opportunities
I opted for an internship at an online writing platform called Wrytin. They offer you various genres and you can choose what you are most comfortable with. My stipend for a one-month internship was 1500 rupees and I was supposed to write 12 articles. I got the internship through Internshala App. All you have to do is apply for suitable internships and send them your work. They decide the rest.
Placement Experience
The placement process is average. If you have a B.tech degree, you can get average placements from the campus. No extraordinary placements are done at least for this course. The Alumni Association is strong though. AMU has produced notable alumni and they are connected through a solidarity feeling across the globe. If you approach an alumnus for any job referrals, you will not be disappointed.
College Events
The University helps students to grow and develop their personalities through different activities. The University has a variety of clubs for the engagement of students in non-academic activities. These clubs focus on providing students with opportunities to develop their talents and skills and grow their personalities.
Campus Life
The campus has a good infrastructure with on-campus hostels. We have wi-fi facilities in the college as well as in the hostel. College provides great facilities for sports-loving students by providing trainers and equipment for a variety of games. The college library is not efficient enough but the overall University Library is the largest University Library in Asia. All the labs are well equipped with every instrument and the campus is very well computerised.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facility is good as well. The accommodation differs from hostel to hostel. Mostly, first years get to share the rooms with 4 other people, which gets pretty tough sometimes because the rooms aren't very big. Hostels have a wi-fi facility and encourage sports as well. The food quality is different for different hostels. I luckily live in a hostel that provides tasty food. It is not very difficult to avail the hostel facility. Most of the people get hostels very easily.
