Remarks

It has a better teaching staff. the teacher-student relationship is more professional and ethical. the college has a vast campus. there are more fields of education to explore. the students are from better social status. the admission process is more official and properly handled. although the dates are fixed, the university can interrupt with the fixed schedules. there is no proper felicitations, which is big bummer, i mean we need recognition. no placements for architecture students. the teachers and personal staff is acknowledging and helpful but the management has no contact with the architecture students beyond admissions. its like you don't exist for them and vice versa.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I've always been curious about architecture and took up this field to learn more about it. the college has a approx. 1:17 , faculty: student ratio. the faculty is fairly qualified , there are doctorates as well masters in the staff, some professors own independent firms and are working as well. the term exams are every 6 months. they are fairly difficult and a university topper is easily accepted in the more renowned colleges of India.

Internships Opportunities

4

the students are free to choose any architectural firm as long as it is under a know architect. the internships are really helpful and with the exposure that is already given to the students within the campus, the jobs offered are quickly grasped. the software skills and proper use of climatology, helps in working for a busy firm. the knowledge of materials and regular seminars on modern issues also help with working in a design oriented firm. the firms do provide a stipend ranging from 5k-8k monthly. the firm I worked in for half of my internship was a more commercial firm, it helped me with understanding the technical work of the project and my speed in running the projects, they gave us site visits to check slab completions and brickwork. the next firm was a landscape firm, there I learnt more detailed work and designing lawns, outdoor seating, custom furniture and electricity layouts, working drawings, ceiling layouts etc. the site visits focused on checking design related details.

Placement Experience

2

there are no campus placements for architecture students in the campus, however, the mandatory one year internship really opens up many opportunities to discover new firms and make contacts. the companies mostly require experienced people as there are no campus placements so the better option after bachelors is to opt for masters. however, placements are provided for engineers and technical courses.

Fees and Financial Aid

the fees is higher as compared to other colleges in the city which provide architecture courses. the fee structure is yearly revised.

Campus Life

4

the annual fest is an extra curricular festival conducted in February annually. and the tech fest is conducted around march. apart from these in house festivals, the college also takes part in an inter college, state level programme ie; NASA every year. its conducted mostly around March-April. the library has a good amount of books ranging from course books to research books for thesis. they also have a collection of all the thesis reports written by former students. there are two libraries, one for each department and one main library for the college. you can find any book related to any technical subject in here. sports activities are conducted throughout the year but mainly around the annual fest. there are a lot of groups run by the students on Facebook, Instagram. the alumni also frequently conducts live sessions for general topics on zoom. they also have a great connection with the architects around India as well as the world. there are seminars held by IIA members all the time

Interview Experience

3

the GD was a live interview discussing the faculty and the performance of the students, also how they would help in getting better education.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Teaching for architecture is for 5 years divided into 10 semester. There is very deep knowledge given in this 5 year Technical and hands on experience is given to students so that they will be good future architect. I think that we should shift more to softwares rather than sheets. Exams are after every 5 months so thats easy to prepare and learn.

College is an institution for learning and yes it does pretty well in those terms. Faculties can get a little edgey if you are not on their good books. Submissions are expected on time irrespective if there is quality work or not.you get marked pretty well if you stay interactive and regular to college. You can manage to get around 60% marks by just attanding lectures and trying to get the submission on time. If you put your self in the submission getting an 80% wont be difficult.
