Remarks
Placement is the best thing in this college. Most of the students get placed with good packages in good companies. The placement in both core and non-core branches are very good. Also, this college is far from the rush of the city.
Course Curriculum Overview
Concerning the ME department, all the faculty members and professors are well qualified as they all are PhD holders from IITs. 1st-year has common subjects and are also taught by guest faculty members. They are good but not much appreciable. Starting from the 2nd year, professors are well qualified and knowledgeable. Majority of the professors are still teaching orthodox principles, along with only bookish knowledge to achieve only a degree. However, some professors really change according to the time and really try to provide complete knowledge they could. The course covers all the engineering aspects with sufficient conceptual knowledge. Still, it lags a bit more exposure to industrial knowledge in mechanical engineering. The course makes you an engineer like as some other colleges, but it depends only on your skills to be industry-ready.
Placement Experience
Slight less number of students got placed compared to the previous years, but it is good compared to other colleges due to the vast alumni base of this college. As our college is almost 100 years old, it has a remarkable alumni base. This year almost 60% of the students have been placed with the highest salary package of 7.1 LPA and the average salary package of about 4.5 LPA. These stats were far better last year due to the recent recession. Companies like Tata Motors, Exxon Mobile, Hero Motto Corp, Samsung Engineering, IBM, etc., have recently recruited a few students this year. But a lot of students also opted for further studies while a few opted for ESE and UPSC.
College Events
The college is good in terms of giving practical knowledge because of so many labs and workshops. Also, the placement of this college is very good which is the upper hand of this college in the whole state. There are different events going on throughout the year. Some of the major events are; Hobby event: This consists of fun activities so that most of the students take part in it. Odyssey: This is the greatest event of the year includes performances of different kinds like dancing, singing, fashion show, rapping, etc Likewise Freshers, Literature events.
