Remarks

The college was well disciplined entire staff was very sincere and hardworking had some great moment.

Entrance Preview

State level entrance test for UP for MNREC and got to REC Calicut through UP quota i was getting computer Science branch in this college and chose this college over MNREC due to better branch. Chose this college over REC Surathkal and Trichy due to better discipline.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course curriculum was pretty old and has gone revision now. Now it has one of the best course i had DSP as elective and it is really helping me as I am working in a product development company.

Internships Opportunities

At that time there was no stipend however there were top class companies coming for campus placement we got placed with our 5th semester result itself.

Placement Experience

Placement has been excellent and it has improved also today top companies come with top job offer. 14 years ago also we use to have normal and dream job offers, now it is like google, yahoo, microsoft, what not.

College Events

We use to have college cultural fest and sports fest also events like paper publications etc other RECs also used to participate in the fest it was being organized in grand way.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure was feasible the college also has scholarship which helps the poor students a lot being a govt funded college so it was very economical as well.

Fees and Financial Aid

Very good scholarship option was there i did not hear anybody with loan facility REC is well known and I am sure education loan for that will be no issue at all.

Campus Life

College life was not that advance compare to North India.less females were there however there were good understanding among students of various parts of country.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel facilities were really good but mess food was not that great being from North India has tough time not much option outside as well.

External Expense: Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna

Many of the senior students are well settled in US or in premier position in India the students had strong base due to the education and that helped every one.

Exam Structure

There used to be unit tests and exams it was a bit hectic but manageable there was no escape from unit test and labs every one has to attend to it and pass.

Faculty

All the Professors & lectures were very sincere and they wanted us to excel we had some young lecturers who were really helpful they were doing teaching by profession even while they could have been working in some MNC with good pay package.

Good life memory

Likes

College ambience was too attractive. Friendly atmosphere ആൻഡ് very nice hidden spots and food spots inside the college
The faculty was too supportive and encouragive nature that was also in studies and extra curricular activities also that be very kind of them
There is not only aim to study but also encourage the extra activities. The management was also very supportive to students and also the faculties.

Dislikes

There is very strict to attendence. There was not to bunk the class every hour there will take the attendence and there will be absent they autimaticaly send sms to registerd phone
There is too many exams and assignments that will be little bit problem for students
Canteen facilities little bit bad in my college life time. There was not that much food veriety

Placement Experience:

From 6 th semester onwards campus placement taken. There was coming in bcs, infopark, wipro, etc. Companies are mainly appeared and also many other companies came select many students. The main companies take students in cutoff 8.5or9 cgpa. And some other compnies take students they have backpapers.

Likes

The overall environment here is great. Students coming from different backgrounds make us more capable of meeting new people who have different ideas and that makes things easier,apart from achieving technical greatness ,curtain clubs are here
These clubs gives opportunities to gain new skills and to showcase our existing skills, sports clubs are also present which will help improve skills in sports
Cultural clubs , technical clubs are also present here to aid in your interest

Placement Experience:

Upon reaching s7 students are invited for campus placement but they have to pass different criteria to become eligible for attending the interview, a minimum cgpa of 7.5 and academic skills a these are the basic requirements and an aptitude test will be given and in further selection these criteria are looked. I plan on pursuing a job after completing by btech. More than half the students in a batch are getting placed usually.

college provides nice venue good study environment
provide library facilities and lab facilities

It is so far from the main road a lot to walk

Students can get internships from First sem. Students become eligible from 7th sem for campus placement . The average package begins from 15000/- to most highest package of 25000/-. The percentage of students getting paced is 20-30%.I have been planiing to go to higher studies.

Campus, comparing from nearby college this college had good visual beauty may be because of the college been part 2-3 movies. Visually the college are too good with nature

Dislikes

The Placement is weak as there is no opportunity to get a proper core based job from what you studied mainly job opportunities come from call centres which doesnt require Btech to study. This personally felt too sad to be here to get placed in core.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As of the college comes under Ktu syllabus it has already has demerits of the university. Curriculum basically doesnot provide a realworld application uses. Just creates a knowledge on the course (and thats doubt) We need to courses outside the college to get the core jobs outside

The college provides a good atmosphere to truly get a job in the competetive world if we are willing to work for it.
They heavily monitor attendance to make sure that you take your classes so that you perform well in your exams
The facilities provided by the college are good as there are several labs and workshops for hands-on experience

Dislikes

The campus life can get boring and it feels like we are in a rat race.
Some teachers can be a bit apathetic towards the students.
The number events that encourage social interactions in not many

The students are elegible for campus placements from the 7th semester and almost all students get placements provided they don't have any subject yet to clear at the time of placement. There are several companies that visit the college for recruiting including but not limited to TCS, CTS,etc,.

The campus is a package pf greenery and the culteral events conducted there are good at the end
The faculties are good and maintain a decent teaching style
The sports activities are well maintained here

Dislikes

The hostel mess and the food is a bit not good from my opinion
The hostel doesn't have adequate wifi to accommodate the entire strength of students residing there

Yes the college is providing placement facilities and the College has its own placement and industrial relations wing that is said to study about the current industrial requirements and provide the adequate amount of training for the students

I wanted to get into Mechanical Engineering in any of the top NIT's so applied for all the NIT's in the NIRF ranking order with mechanical in every college so after the counselling happened to get into NIT Calicut. The admission process is through JoSAA Counselling where students come to the college after getting alloted but before that the student needs to clear the JEE Main Exam to get admitted into the college.
