Remarks
That's the only law college in Guwahati which if fully government, other law colleges in Guwahati are semi - government or private. though Guwahati has one NLU but it's tuition fees of five year course is 10x times more than government law college.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is good but as its a five year course,In the initial semester's only easy law subjects are taught by which students can get a grip on it and than on later semesters. the tough law papers are taught. whereas in NLUs the curriculum is such at third semester only IPC comes in curriculum for which students face difficulty. ULC dosen't have many permanent faculties + the one's who are permanent dosen't have much experience of teaching. so students faces problems. The faculties which are good leaves the college as early as possible because they are provided with enough exposure to work for students benefit. and we still are following a 2012 course syllabus Which in my terms is totally outdated.
Placement Experience
No placements as its a law College and even if placements come. the students don't opt for placements as either they prepare for the Bar Council exams or for master's degree. There are not yet famous startups been put from college seniors but yes. this college has a unique history as this college was the epicenter for The Assam Movement.
College Events
For sports we have a separate law week conducted by the College union. College never allows any of his students to participate any where in any competition as the College is very strict in terms of attendance. but the college separately conducts inter college events and a youth festival is conducted by Gauhati university in which it take part.
Campus Life
If I talk about infrastructure it's good as the ULC is in Gauhati University campus we have adequate sports facilities or I should say more than 10 college sports facilities are available to the students. we don't have a WiFi classroom. But for law students E-Moot Court is there.
