Remarks

The college is good for those students who want to concentrate on studies and get placed but not for those who wants to gain real world knowledge and socially interact with opposite gender.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course curriculum is fully based on Anna University syllabus as the college is affiliated to Anna University. The syllabus is revised every four years. The syllabus fully focuses on theoretical concepts and outdated technologies. The chances of learning the new world technologies are less. One cannot choose electives independently. They have to choose what majority of the class are willing to choose . It is a major disappointment for students who are interested in a particular subject.

Internships Opportunities

Only few companies provide internship offers to students. Companies like amazon, zoho offers internship to students with a stipend of 20 - 30k.This is only 2-3% not all the companies offer internships.

Placement Experience

4

Placement wise the college is really good. Around 140-150 companies visit the campus each year and almost 85% of the eligible candidates are placed every year. As product companies are considered, they visit the campus and recruit only 3-5 students .The major recruiters are 1.CTS 2.Wipro 3.Infosys. These 3 companies recruit almost 50% of the eligible candidates with a package of 3.3 lakh /annum.

College Events

2

The technical events conducted here are the National level symposiums organized by each department every year. Students from all over the nation participate and win prizes. As far as cultural and management festivals are considered the college conducts the "college day" every year with events like dance, singing, drama and other cultural events. It is celebrated within the college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee for the government quota is approx Rs.64000 (40000 tuition fee + others, excluding the bus, hostel and mess fees). College transport is optional. The bus fees is about Rs.26000/yr irrespective of your distance. The mess is only for hostel students. For hostel the room rent is Rs.20000/yr and mess fees is Rs.48000/yr.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college doesn't provide any scholarship for meritorious students. There is a scholarship for the students whose family income is less than 2 lakh provided by the government for which some students apply, they get 3.5-5k /yr . Other than that they doesn't provide any scholarship. College also doesn't arrange any loan facilities for students, if students want loan then they should approach the bank personally.

Campus Life

2.5

The campus life is good compared to other engineering colleges in chennai. They don't support for extracurricular or sport activities. They conduct activities for namesake. They somewhat concentrate on technical competitions.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

Separate hostel buildings for boys and girls. A hostel room is shared by 4 members of the same department and year. A room consists of 4 small beds in the center and surrounded by some small space and a shelf. They provide strict rules for the hostelites. Students here often complain about the mess food but the management doesn't care about that. The mess food they provide here is average.

Alumni/Alumna

The college doesn't provide the environment to interact with the seniors or alumni. After each year's placement, the placed students share their experience with their juniors during some class hour. Some of the alumni comes to class and occasionally take guest lecture. The students find chances to interact with seniors during symposiums.

Exam Structure

The technical events conducted here are the National level symposiums organized by each department every year. Students from all over the nation participate and win prizes. As far as cultural and management festivals are considered the college conducts the "college day" every year with events like dance, singing, drama and other cultural events. It is celebrated within the college.

Faculty

3

25% of the faculties have completed their Ph.D and 25 % have registered for Ph.D . Each and every faculty has at least completed their PG. Faculties are friendly and co-operative . Some of the faculties are equipped with technical stuffs. But majority of the staff sticks to the syllabus and aims only on marks and not on developing our knowledge.

Placement Experience:

Placements are generally decent, with students becoming eligible from the final year. Several companies visit for recruitment, offering roles in technical and non-technical fields. Packages vary by company, and placement opportunities depend on skills and performance. Many students secure jobs, while others pursue higher studies or competitive exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because it covers important subjects related to computer science, programming, databases, networking, and emerging technologies. The combination of theoretical knowledge and practical subjects influenced my decision to choose this course. The curriculum provides a good foundation in technical concepts and programming. However, more practical projects, industry-based training, internships, and real-world applications would help students become better prepared for careers and further studies.
