Remarks

Management could really improve on the extra-curriculars and the hostel facilities like mess and repairs. The pros of this college are definitely its faculties, mentors and placements. Cons are few in number but if you are into this college for a while, you'll see its better than most other colleges in the city.

Entrance Preview

I came in to this college through COMED-K. My score was 103 and since this year the competition was very high, I managed to get ISE in this college in the second round counselling, having had selected ECE in the same in 1st round.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The college is VTU affiliated and a bit outdated too. It lacks quite essential extra subjects like personality development and introduction to marketing, which are being run in other colleges like PES. Apart from that, curriculum is good and the projects that we get in later on years compensate for it.

Internships Opportunities

There is no shortage for internships in this college. Companies come in the 3rd year with internship offers and even if someone fails to get in, he may search for an internship by himself. The college name is good so companies accept off-campus applications for internships. Stipend varies every year but highest might be around 15K per month. There are unpaid internships too.

Placement Experience

4

Placement is not very remarkable but not bad either. Its certainly better than colleges like DSCE, Siddaganga and JSSATE in terms of placements. Though there is a lack of core companies coming for placements, but the college witnesses almost 100% placements every year, the mass recruiter being Infosys and TCS. Packages go as high as 14-15 lacs per annum, average bring around 3.5 lacs but sinks down for core branches.

College Events

2.5

Fests are quite good here. The crowd looks chilled and we have many ongoing fests around the year. They have distinct fests for B.E, MBA, MCA and other streams too. There is even a hostel fest named utopia. The fests usually last around 2-3 days and its fun, as the seniors say.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is quite feasible and this COMEDK college doesn't snatch up extra money like many others. Fee was raised to around 1.5 lacs per annum for ComedK students.Along with that, they don't fish out money for various reasons, and neither do they have huge fines imposed on students. Its affordable and cheaper than private universities here.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarship can only be availed by Hyderabad-Karnataka students or the students entering through KCET. There are no provisions of scholarships for COMEDK students

Campus Life

4

Campus life isn't as good as DSCE or BMS. But isn't bad either. The crowd isn't a mix-up of all the cultures. You'll probably end up crashing on either a Kannada or a Bihari in a crowd, as these two are in majority. Not much of a North culture is prevalent, but still you can make good friends and enjoy. People are tolerant and polite, and not that indulged in malpractices like drugs etc. Extracurriculars like robotics, python programming and other classes are held all around the year. Sports is not that much of a hype here.

Hostel Facilities

2

Hostel amenities and the rooms aren't bad. The mess food sucks. This is one of the few minus points about this college if you are going to stay in the hostel. Apart from that, room cleaning and laundry and other facilities are up-to-date in the hostel.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni is very helpful. I managed to get in touch with two of them and they really guided well. Seniors are kind of chilled out too. Overall, nice place to be if you need someone to guide and mentors.

Exam Structure

Exams are conducted by the VTU so its quite moderate a schedule. Two Internals are held in one day so that is a catch, but overall it isn't very hectic. The syllabus is quite large, but can be managed by the students. VTU usually postpones its exams so the routine isn't very rigid. But the correction of exam sheets is lenient in VTU exams.

Faculty

4

Faculties are one of the most outstanding things about this college. All the teachers are helpful, skilled and friendly. Their notes are of a major help during exams, and the way of teaching in class is such that you can grasp everything quickly. They clear all your doubts and even help you out before exams. If one maintains a good relationship with the teachers, he is sure to get through the exams easily.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is a mix of both Computer Science and AIML which is increasingly relevant in today's world. Second year: Subjects like Mathematics for AIML, Data Structures, Stats for Data Science, Computer Networks, Third year: DBMS, ANN, ML operations Some other elevtives are also available and courses like Universal Human Values, POME, EIPR etc. Honestly, POME, EIPR, UHV should have less course credits and probably MCQ type exams (like IC and Yoga in first year). Curriculum is good and updating for applications helped along with projects. Exams are generally once in a month, 1.5 - 2 units for each subject each exam. Lab exams at the very end before CIE marks finalization. Then 2 weeks gap for Lab SEE, then 1 week gap and actual SEE's.

Placement Experience:

KSIT has an average placement rate of 70%-85% depending on the branch . CSE,ISE and ECE branches have higher placements while mechanical and civil have fewer opportunities in IT sector . Average package is about 4-6LPA . KSIT attracts many IT based recruitiers with some core companies for non -IT branches . It also provides pre-placement training, coding boot cams, aptitude tests and soft skills development . Alumni network is moderate, but students need off-campus efforts for high paying jobs
