Remarks

The campus is big and contains almost all the necessary facilities along with cafes. The branch chemical engineering is the most underrated branch in India. No industry can work without a chemical engineer. Also after reading the curriculum, i developed interest in the branch.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course syllabus was upto date with latest course teachings. There were frequent industrial trips for better overview and exposure. Out of all chemical faculties, Dr. Gangacharyulu is the most informative and intelligent teacher in the department.

Internships Opportunities

Engineers India Limited- Process Engineer No stipend was offered to the interns. The student has to work with his own contacts to get a good internship off campus.

Placement Experience

3.5

The placement cell works really hard to get the students placed. Reputed companies visit the campus like Reliance, Honeywell, Microsoft, Delloite, HMEL, TATA Motors, Maruti, Amazon etc. Almost every branch has a minimum placement record of 70%. Most of the core companies offer profiles related to the core knowledge. Non core companies offer profiles like Business Analysts.

College Events

3.5

Technical events were held almost every 3-4 days. The biggest fest is Saturnalia where famous stars visit the campus to perform like Zakir Khan, Jubin Nautiyal, Abhishek Upmanyu, Ammy Virk, Benny Dayal etc. Cultural fests like Virsa, Sur Night, Nox night etc are frequently held and students are kept busy and entertained.

Fees and Financial Aid

Various student scholarships are available for batch toppers every semester. top 10% of students get these scholarships. Other scholarships are also there for economically weaker students.

Campus Life

The campus is lush green and very huge. There are dedicated tennis courts, crciket, hockey, football grounds, table tennis rooms etc. Most of the campus is wifi connected. The new library has been built is huge and contains latest equipments and books.

Hostel Facilities

Hostels are way much better than other colleges. The new hostels built are superb with AC and heater. The bathrooms of these hostels are great and it might even feel like hotel rooms. There are water coolers on every alternate floors. In hostel J, there are TVs in every hostel cluster.

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As i have opted the course B.Pharmacy! I rate the course as optimal, neither too bad nor too good, its medium! Now comes on teaching method, some teachers are really well and good and few are those who does not teaches but only writing writing, thats it, they will not explain at all! And one thing they should change is that All Courses except B.Pharmacy in Chandigarh University have the criteria to pass the student even below the 40% only or the half of the highest number scored by the topper in the class, and for Bpharmacy its minimum requirement to pass the exam is 50%, Oh My God! This needs to be changed, Now every year, in Bpharmacy, the overall 80% students are getting Compartments (Back/Fail) in the subjects, but the University is not understanding it all. So this should be changed as earlier!

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
