Remarks

The University was very near to my house and It was very well known for its technical teams. I wanted to pursue Robotics as my career but there was no such way at that time to pursue this as my major but I was very sure that I will get many opportunities to pursue my interests if I got admittance from DTU. The only con I found about this University is the lack of maintenance of their laboratories. The admission process at that time was very pretty straightforward after my enrollment. I visited NSIT first to secure my seat and then after the final round, I got myself an upgrade to DTU. If you are want to be a researcher then you will have many technical teams to join. If you are into sports than DTU has built an outstanding sports complex and a sports festival. Same goes for cultural activities. If you are academic and expecting serious studies (like in schools) then I will prefer NSIT over DTU. I took advice from CollegeDunia.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

I wanted to be a robotics engineer and my rank was not that high to choose electronics and communication engineering so I went for Mechanical Engineering as it is second closest field to robotics. The faculty members are very supportive and approachable. You can visit them at any time and ask for projects or doubts. The curriculum is quite old and you may get bored because the latest technologies are not covered. The midterm exams are the most difficult to score as they are very lengthy. The syllabus for exams is provided when you will enrol in the college in your orientation book unless professor reduced in rare circumstances.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Till last year, Companies visited the university for internship opportunities but after the COVID situation, University opens the gates from in Campus internships as well. It will give you leverage to do research work under the mentorship of professor. A few of the top companies I remember were Microsoft for computer students, Samsung and Qualcomm for Electronics students and Bajaj for mechanical students. The stipend offered vary from company to company.

Placement Experience

4.5

After the starting of 3rd Year, a lot of companies will come for computer stream to offer internships. Mechanical students have not that much option during internship sessions and therefore they find internships on their own. For the placements, every student will get a chance to apply for the most suitable company. If you are eligible then your stream won't be an excuse to get a job. Most of the students from the core branch wanted to go for further studies or prepare for civil services so half of them don't take placements very seriously and the other half got placed. I belong to the other half and I wanted to do MSc so I don't know about the placement stats that much but even after this DTU gave me a job in Infosys. So I think you won't be jobless if you are looking for a job.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee structure changes every year so I can't comment on that. My first-year fee was around 1.25 lakh with an approx. increment of 10k each year. There are scholarships of 20k for branch topper and if you belong to a lower income group than your tuition fee will be reimbursed which is around 70k. There is also a University Internship Program of 2 months with a stipend of 2.5k.

Campus Life

4.5

DTU spends a lot of money infests. Engifest is the most popular cultural fest in DTU. There is also technical fest, literature fest (Yuvaan) and sports fest (Aavahan). All of these held in February and March of each year. The library is quite large and you may found some books hidden in the other sections. You can sanction 3 to 5 books depending on your quota. There is also E-library to download ebooks and journals online. You can check the section of teams on the DTU website. There you can find most of the technical teams. DTU TIMES is the Universities Magazine which gives you more info about everything.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is good. I do not feel very pressure. The course curriculum is design by GGSIPU. There is not spefific reason to choose to this course. It was my childhood dream to become computer engineer. I cant say that the curriculum prepares for real world applications because I am just second year students. The exam conducted on semester basis and its not very difficult.

If you study passionately and have decent communication skills and some important competencies, I assure you that you will secure a position in a great company. Here at IIT Delhi, you earn what you work for; you can receive salary packages as high as 2 crores, but some offers start as low as 4 lakhs per annum.
