Entrance Preview

I attempted JEE Mains 2015 to get into this college. I got a score of 139 in Mains and an overall of 86.62% in Maharashtra state board examinations. I have always been inclined towards computers a bit, and thus, chose this college for I was getting my favoured branch in it. I also had an option to get into colleges like VJTI, COEP and NITs, but I wasn't getting computer engineering in those.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The courses of the university are pretty outdated with little scope of research, to be honest. As far as the college is concerned, they provide with great opportunities like workshops for various topics like advanced java, android etc. Also, there was a 2-day IOT workshop in our college.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, our college does provide internship opportunities, but for the third year students. Being in the second year. I don't have a precise idea about the stipend, and neither do I have any experience.

Placement Experience

4.5

The placements of the college are very good overall. Many dream companies like Morgan Stanley, Credit suisse and barclays came to the college for recruitments. Morgan Stanley offered a package of 13 LPA, Credit suisse and barclays offered around 10 LPA. Other recruiters included infosys, WIPRO and IBM.

College Events

3

We have our technical fest - MATRIX which is held annually. Then we also have our cultural fest - UDAAN. The fests are pretty fun with many innovative events organized by the students of the college. Over 1000 students participate in the fests. There is also a mega event known as techrace - a treasure hunt throughout the city, which is also held annually and attracts many students from various colleges.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is feasible as compared to other private colleges like NMIMS, KJ Somaiyya and DJ Sanghvi. The overall fee for one academic year is INR 1.30 Lakhs. Apart from this, students have to pay examination fee in range of 800-900 every year. Overall, the college is pretty affordable, as the labs are in good condition and the classes are air-conditioned.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, there are a few scholarship opportunities, but not many. Also, there's a book bank scheme each semester for the top ranked students, by which they can issue books from the library for a whole semester.

Campus Life

3.5

The gender ratio is about 55:45 boys:girls in all the classes. There are various clubs in the college, one mandatory for each branch. Like for comps, there's FACE. Also, there are other clubs like CSI, E-Cell, Spark, Pi Club etc. There are students from diverse backgrounds and hometowns. There are also many people from outside the city, even from Delhi and Kashmir.

Hostel Facilities

1

There is no hostel facility available for the students as for now. Many students from outside the city rent a PG or a flat though. There's no mess as well of SPIT, but SPCE does have a mess serving pretty decent food. Also, there's a mess of SPJIMR opposite to the college, which is also good.

Exam Structure

The exam structure of the college is fine, we have 2 mid semester over the course of a semester. The exam schedule of the Mumbai university is too chilled out, way more stretched than required. The end semester last for a month or even more at times. As a result, students get less holidays between semesters.

Admission

The DTE released it's admission form, they had unified all the colleges under one roof, and students could opt from a list of colleges where they got admission on the basis of their percentile score. The procedures were very simple and all the CAP rounds were online, except for the third counselling spot round, where candidates had to be physically present at centres nearby thei place.

Faculty

4

Most of the staff is really helpful and the teachers really do care about their students, and make sure that the students learn. They make sure that all the student's doubts get cleared. There were a few teachers in the first year who weren't really up to the mark, though.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Soo ever since kid i was interested in bikes this interest was all for me to take this course , my father is very bike enthusiast and it came down to me , i could easily take mechanical and other engineering cause these are common courses which involves automobile , but since i wanted to follow my passion , i wanted to do specialization in automobile itself and DPCOE was offering this course with great facilities and knowledge providing us a path in this lane of career in this field. According to me curriculum prepares us quite well as they conduct workshop which are relevant to outside world where we'll be working. If there were more practical workshops for us to work on would be great cause automobile engineering is all about practicals rather than theoroticals Professor should try teaching in physical part rather than taking lectures and explaining the concept by just words

Yes there is placement cell of STES which is no different than other tier 3 engineering colleges offering a tier 3 average package depending on who is the recruiter. Students become eligible for campus from 3rd year of their degree. Highest package is something around 55 lakhs offered to a computer engineering student, and average is just like I said for a tier 3 college 5-6 lakhs(above or below). Almost everyone gets placed in the company but some might not.
