Remarks

This college is nearby to my college and the course which I opted for was introduced that year only. Students get admission in various colleges under du through a number of cut-offs released by the different colleges themselves. At the time of admission, first, the college office verified my percentage marks (best four). After successful verification, I filled up an admission from there only. After that, we made the fee payment online and submitted the original documents to the college, and got admitted to that course. This all happen in the month of august as I got my admission in the 10th cut off and there was much delay in joining my classes, but the classes have started already. I didn't remember the exact dates when I took admission there. The main reason was that it was really near to my house. I don't have to waste my time in order to travel a long distance for attending classes. I got to know much about this college from various sites such as Shikha, college Duniya and career 360, etc.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I opted for this course as I'll have a chance to explore the earth and its relation with man and its surroundings, and much, much more. Indeed, geography degrees are some of the most varied out there; it's more apt to consider this as a broad academic field, rather than a single subject. According to my experience, our faculty is one of the best to study this course. There were 45-50students in total. As Geography Hons. was introduced in 2017 in our college various teachers with specialization got appointed in our faculty. Some of our teachers worked and had done courses in Isro, our department had organized many summits and discussion sessions with various highly educated persons throughout India. Their teaching method was easily understandable to us and they also provided notes after completing each topic and they were really very friendly and positive towards us. In each semester, 2 exams were held. One was prepared internally and one was external. Exams were quite tough enough

Internships Opportunities

0.5

I already mentioned the details regarding the placements of students from my course. But I heard that students got placements in various bpo, kpo companies. Internships also take place and discussion sessions also happened and many students had also joined that session.

Placement Experience

4.5

I don't know much about placements from our course because I haven't seen any student from our course to opt for a job. Mostly each and every student opted for higher students. I also opted for higher studies and currently, I'm pursuing M.A in Geography.

Fees and Financial Aid

When I got my admission in that course I had to pay around 13000 for 1year inclusion of the first two semesters. After that, the fee decreased preceding each year. According to my, the fee was quite relevant and it was not that much higher and anyone can easily pay. Further, in practice, I had to buy some accessories each semester but it was also quite affordable too. Scholarships were also provided. But I hadn't opted for any, as my father doesn't have his income certificate. And I, in order to get a scholarship income certificate, is a must. But my friends got scholarships I had heard from then. I don't really remember the names of the scholarships. They also provided fee concession programs to every student. Many got fee return in their bank accounts. I have also heard that placements cells also work really well and different big companies collaborate and had chosen jewels from our college.

Campus Life

4

Lehren is the annual fest which happens in our college every year. I don't know much about the tech fest. But the Lehren is conducted in the month of February. In 2020, it was conducted from 27th to 28th February, we enjoyed it a lot. Almost all the classrooms contain smart classes for better understanding through visual interpretation to the students. I find it really helpful in my studies. I had seen that many students participated in the state and national levels games under the inspection of the sport mam. The NCC department is also very good and the students practice regularly throughout the college.

Almost 100% as our course students dont have to do much as getting to this college is enough. Our economics society and placement cell both work so hard to get the best companies here and that is why placements at St, Stephen's are amazing not just of our branch but overall as well.

Course Curriculum Overview:

According to me, bachelor of Arts is a waste program, it doesn't prepare you for anything except government exams. It doesn't prepare you for real world applications unless you have other in demand skills. I think there's a lot of need to change the syllabus of bachelor of Arts and teachers should be supportive and qualified. In every 6 months there's semester exams and mostly they're quite difficult.

Remarks:

Positive- Faculty is one of the best in among all colleges of Delhi University. It has the biggest infrastructure in Delhi university. Located in central Delhi which makes it easily accessible to reach Central park, red fort, and many more places in New Delhi. Negative- Annual fest is very poor in our college. Placements are not very good. Lack of sports facilities. Very strict rules and discipline.
